'Tap' payments eliminate the need for a physical bank card.

DNVN - VPBank and Mastercard officially launched the "Pay by Account" solution – the first contactless payment service in the Asia-Pacific region integrated into the bank's e-wallet, allowing customers to tap to pay directly from their payment account without using a physical card.

Through this new solution, VPBank customers can link their CASA accounts with multiple e-wallets, including the VPBank NEO app as well as international e-wallets such as Apple Pay and Google Pay, to make payments at over 150 million Mastercard acceptance points worldwide. This solution makes daily transactions faster, safer, and more convenient.

The event contributes to promoting the cashless payment trend in Vietnam, providing a convenient and safe experience for people when traveling.

By integrating modern contactless payment technology, VPBank has pioneered the deployment of contactless payments via account at the Ho Chi Minh City Metro system, starting with Metro Line 1 (Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien) of the Ho Chi Minh City urban railway system. This event not only marks a significant step forward in applying digital payment solutions to public transportation but also contributes to promoting the cashless payment trend in Vietnam, providing a convenient and safe experience for people when traveling.

Seamlessly integrated into the VPBank NEO app, Pay by Account allows users to make secure contactless payments with just a tap or facial authentication.

Pay by Account's tokenization technology also enhances security and control for customers by requiring transaction authentication – whether in-store or online – directly within the app. Starting today, customers can register and activate the service directly on the VPBank NEO app.
