Connecting children living abroad
Leaving home does not mean leaving one’s roots. Anyone who leaves Quang Nam or Da Nang to settle in a new land carries with them a deep love for their homeland. The Quang Nam - Da Nang fellow countrymen associations established everywhere, from the South to the North, even abroad, are clear evidence of the solidarity of the people of Quang.
Every time they meet their fellow countrymen, people far from home have the opportunity to recall old memories and share joys and sorrows in life. These meetings not only help relieve homesickness but also open up opportunities to support each other in work and life. In particular, the older generation is always ready to guide and support the younger generation in their journey to establish a career.

Not only is it a place to connect emotions, the Quang Nam - Da Nang fellow countrymen association in the provinces and cities also organizes many meaningful activities: charity, supporting disadvantaged people, awarding scholarships to poor but studious students, disaster relief, epidemics, sports exchanges, connecting businessmen, students, alumni... These activities are maintained regularly and increasingly widespread.
Notably, some fellow countrymen associations have also established specialized liaison committees for each target group such as students, young businessmen, retired officials, etc. Thereby, expanding the scope of influence and creating cohesion between generations of Quang people. Flexibility in organization and operation helps associations maintain sustainability, increasingly attracting the attention of the community.
Sowing the seeds of responsibility in the young
Currently, most of the Quang Nam - Da Nang fellow countrymen associations are still run by the middle-aged and elderly generations. Meanwhile, the younger generation rarely participates, resulting in low continuity. Many people born and raised in foreign lands are no longer attached to their homeland, partly because of the generation gap, partly because of a lack of orientation and early connections.

Traditional and uninnovative forms of activities are also barriers that make young people hesitant. In the context of technological development, the hometown associations have not yet made good use of social networks and digital platforms to expand their connection channels and continuously interact with young people.
Therefore, it is urgent to arouse the sense of responsibility of young people towards their homeland. Besides being proud of their origin, the young generation needs to be encouraged to become a force that inherits, creates and renews their homeland activities in a close and practical way.
Young people have advantages in technology, organizational skills, and new thinking. If given the opportunity, they can contribute to organizing events, building fanpages, online forums, connecting startups, sharing careers, and inspiring community development.

Combining the experience of predecessors with the strength of youth will help the hometown associations maintain sustainability, both preserving traditional identity and adapting to modern life. When empowered, the youth not only play a connecting role but also become an important resource for activities towards the homeland, charity, investment, and cultural development.
To do that, associations need to proactively innovate their working methods, be flexible in their organization, and open the way for young people to participate in appropriate forms. A vibrant association in the new era is not only a gathering place, but also a space for all generations of Quang people to bond, share and contribute to the development of their homeland.
