Last weekend, two major private tourist destinations in Quang Nam , Hoiana (Duy Xuyen district) and Vinwonders Nam Hoi An (Thang Binh district), both held Christmas tree lighting ceremonies, kicking off the year-end tourism season.
The "Lighting Up Dreams" charity program launched by Hoiana Resort & Golf aims to support hearing-impaired children at the Quang Nam Center for Inclusive Education and Support for Hearing-Impaired Children (part of the Hearing & Beyond Organization).
At the event, deaf children hung their wishes on a Christmas tree. They also created a touching moment for those in attendance by performing a Christmas song together using sign language.
On this occasion, Hoiana Resort & Golf also presented a symbolic check for 240 million VND to the VinaCapital Foundation (VCF). This amount will be sent to the "Heartbeat of Vietnam" initiative of VCF, equivalent to the cost of heart surgery for 7 underprivileged children.
This is an annual charitable activity during the year-end festivities of Hoiana Resort & Golf. Since 2022, Hoiana has contributed to supporting a total of 32 heart surgeries for children.
Mr. Steve Wolstenholme, Chairman and CEO of Hoiana Resort & Golf, said that during the annual festive season, Hoiana organizes meaningful social activities to spread joy and love to those in need, especially underprivileged children.
"We are happy that this initiative contributes to bringing hope and better opportunities for the children in particular and their families in general," said Steve Wolstenholme.
Meanwhile, at Vinwonders Nam Hoi An, the Christmas tree lighting ceremony, which kicked off the Wake Up Festival series of events celebrating Christmas and New Year 2025, also featured a very meaningful activity: a Christmas wish program for underprivileged children.
Approximately 200 students from Hope School (Da Nang City) - a school that cares for children who unfortunately lost their parents after the COVID-19 pandemic - had a day of fun exploring the exciting games at Vinwonders Nam Hoi An and seeing many rare animals at this entertainment complex.
Ms. Tran Thi Ngoc Giau, General Manager of Vinwonders Nam Hoi An, said: “This is the first time our unit has integrated this program into our Christmas activities. The children were very excited to meet and interact with Santa Claus. We will try to maintain this meaningful program in the following years to share Christmas love with underprivileged children.”
