The Vietnam Puppet Theatre has just launched the art program "Long Thanh Emotions ". This work, created to celebrate the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, was performed by the theatre's artists based on a script by People's Artist Thuy Mui.

With its newly designed, experimental, multi-tiered "open" stage space, director and People's Artist Nguyen Tien Dung has filled the area with vibrant and eye-catching performances, depicting scenes from the Water Pavilion, the Imperial Citadel, the courtyard, the Temple of Literature, the Khue Van Pavilion, and even the ancient streets of Hanoi .
The director combined traditional art forms with contemporary folk performances, showcased through water puppetry and land puppetry. The performances by legendary ca trù singers – People's Artist Thanh Hoài and People's Artist Thanh Ngoan – along with their interaction with the audience, created a perfect artistic effect.

The scenes created by the authors are not like typical puppet plays, but rather celebratory and festive performances.

The scenes depicted in the plays created by the authors of "Long Thanh Emotions" are not like typical puppet shows, but rather celebratory and festive performances.
From folk melodies and the lively, rhythmic drumming of traditional opera to the sona horn of classical theater, sometimes soaring, sometimes poignant, alongside the four-panel painting.
Then there were the night cries and calls of the night-time laborers… It's a pity there wasn't the cry of "who wants roasted peanuts?" – "who wants roasted peanuts?", from which composer Nguyen Xuan Khoat created his musical work.

Khue Van Cac was vividly recreated along with skillful performances by many artists.

To create a Long Thanh Emotion performance on such a grand scale, like a colorful painting of old Hanoi, in addition to the editing and direction by People's Artist Nguyen Tien Dung from the script by People's Artist Thuy Mui, the creativity of other artistic components played a crucial role in the success of the 1 hour and 5 minute performance.
The performances included puppetry by Meritorious Artist Thế Khiển; stage design by painter Ngô Thắng; music by Meritorious Artist Duy Hòa; choreography by Master Phùng Khải; sound by Ngọc Nên; and lighting by Như Sơn… The performances captivated the audience, not just children. The seats in the audience were filled.

The Long Thanh emotional performance attracted a large audience.
