Replace the Principal of Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine

The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just issued a decision to assign the responsibility of leading, managing, and operating financial transactions and performing the duties of the Principal of Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine.

Accordingly, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee assigned Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Dang Thoai, Party Committee member, Vice Rector of Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine to be in charge of leading, managing, operating activities, conducting financial transactions and performing the duties of the Rector of Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine until a decision is made to appoint the Rector of Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine according to regulations.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Dang Thoai will carry out his duties from today, May 12.

Thus, from May 12, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Dang Thoai will take over the duties of Principal of Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine, replacing Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hiep.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Dang Thoai's leadership allowance coefficient is 1.0 during the assigned period.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Dang Thoai was appointed Vice Rector of Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine in September 2024. He was born in 1968 and graduated with a PhD in Pharmaceutical Technology in 2012 from Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy. Before being appointed Vice Rector, he was Secretary of the University Council, Head of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Preparation - Biopharmaceuticals.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hiep, from Binh Duong, was appointed as the Principal of Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine in July 2021. At that time, he was only 45 years old. Mr. Hiep graduated from the Ho Chi Minh City Center for Training and Development of Medical Staff (the predecessor of Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine) with the topic "Analysis of treatment costs for end-stage renal disease at People's Hospital 115". The topic was defended in French, achieving the highest score of 18.5/20 points, and was rated excellent by the French-Vietnamese Jury.

After that, Mr. Hiep was sponsored by the Francophone University Association (AUF) for the first year of two years of master's studies at Bordeaux University of Medicine (France). Before becoming the Rector of Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine, Mr. Hiep was a lecturer in Clinical Epidemiology, head of the Training Management, Scientific Research, International Cooperation departments, Head of the Family Medicine Clinic, and General Clinic.

In early March 2021, Mr. Hiep was assigned the position of Vice Principal in charge of this school after Associate Professor Ngo Minh Xuan took on the role of Chairman of the School Board.
