Teacher Nguyen Van Minh enthusiastically guides students in doing their homework.

For nearly 25 years, teacher Nguyen Van Minh at Tan Binh Secondary School ( Hai Duong City) has tirelessly pursued his passion for Mathematics and helped many students change from fear to love of this subject.

Born and raised in Lac Long commune (Kinh Mon town), Mr. Minh showed his talent for math from a young age. In 1998, he took the entrance exam to Hai Duong Pedagogical College and majored in math and physics. In 2001, after graduating from school, Mr. Minh worked at An Luu town secondary school (Kinh Mon town). In 2012, he transferred to Tan Binh secondary school and has been with the school until now.

Having met many students who are afraid and do not like to learn math because it is difficult and somewhat dry. To eliminate that thought, with many years of experience teaching math, Mr. Minh researched flexible teaching methods, stimulating the ability to self-study in each student. To make math more attractive, he researched and included examples related to real life in his lectures. He tried to turn dry math formulas into fun math problems and math puzzles.

According to Mr. Minh, the way of teaching is a very important factor for students to understand the lesson easily, so he always tries to research suitable teaching methods. He divides students into groups to help them approach the lesson more easily. For good students, he often gives advanced questions to practice, while weaker students will have their knowledge reinforced before practicing. Thanks to that, many students who initially had gaps in knowledge, were weak and afraid of learning math now love this subject and gradually improve. Good students practice a lot, so their knowledge and problem-solving skills become more and more proficient.

Mr. Minh trains the school's team of excellent students.

For many years, Mr. Minh has trained the school's excellent student team to achieve many high achievements. The math team he is in charge of always achieves high rankings in the city, in competitions for excellent students at all levels. He has taught students for two consecutive years who passed the entrance exam to the specialized math class of Nguyen Trai High School for the Gifted with absolute scores of 10 in Math.

Despite having a solid foundation of knowledge, Mr. Minh has never stopped studying, improving his skills, and improving his qualifications. He searches for documents on the internet to update his knowledge and learn new teaching methods. As the Head of the Natural Science Group at Tan Binh Secondary School, Mr. Minh has inspired each teacher in the group to study, study more, and study forever.

He and his colleagues have carried out many projects and initiatives to improve skills, expertise, and innovate teaching methods. For 5 consecutive years, he has had initiatives in mathematics recognized at the city level. In 2022, he won a provincial award for his initiatives. In the 2023-2024 school year, he received a certificate of merit from the Hai Duong Provincial Labor Federation for his outstanding achievements in the movement of research and application of science and technology to promote labor productivity.

For 13 consecutive years, he has achieved the title of emulation fighter at the grassroots level; twice achieved the title of emulation fighter at the provincial level. In the 2021-2022 school year, he was awarded a certificate of merit by the Minister of Education and Training for his outstanding achievements in the emulation movement "Innovation and creativity in management, teaching and learning". In the 2022-2023 school year, he was awarded a certificate of merit by the Director of the Department of Education and Training of Hai Duong province for having students who achieved high prizes in math at the provincial level.

In the 2023-2024 school year, he was awarded a certificate of merit by the Chairman of Hai Duong City People's Committee for his achievements in training excellent students in the province in math.

Most recently, at the end of October, he was honored by the City Party Committee, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee of Hai Duong City, and awarded the title "Outstanding Citizen of the City" on the occasion of the 220th anniversary of the founding of Thanh Dong and the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Hai Duong City.
