I have been reading Hai Duong News, which we jokingly call the provincial newspaper, for more than 10 years now. Back then, when I was working at the People's Court of Cam Giang District, smart phones were not as popular as they are now. At that time, the provincial newspaper was almost the only official and most valuable information channel we had. Early in the morning every day, one of the first things we should do is read Hai Duong News.
With only 8 pages, the newspaper still summarizes the major issues of the province, including domestic and international news. The format of the newspaper is also lively, each day of the week is printed in a different color. News praising achievements in socio -economic development has created a wide spread among the people, multiplying new examples. Not only that, the newspaper also frankly speaks out about the shortcomings and limitations. Thereby, contributing with all levels and sectors to build Hai Duong province to be more and more prosperous and strong.
Working in the legal industry, I am often interested in articles and investigative reports on the law. For me, the beauty of Hai Duong newspaper is that the articles are recorded from multiple perspectives, based on legal regulations. Each article paints a realistic, objective, and unbiased picture.
I retired in 2019. Since then, I have paid for my own newspaper subscriptions. Leaving the state sector and opening a legal consulting company, I still maintain the habit of reading Hai Duong newspaper every day. Hai Duong newspaper is everywhere, both at work and at home. Although news now appears more in new forms, such as electronic newspapers or social networks, to me, the printed newspaper is as familiar as a daily family meal.
I believe that not only me, but many other Hai Duong people also share these feelings and thoughts.
From tomorrow, July 1st, the Hai Duong printed newspaper will cease its operations. The first thing that flashed through my mind was an indescribable feeling of loss. Although I know that all information is updated and posted on the electronic newspaper, the thought of no longer being able to hold the newspaper in my hands makes me feel sad.
As a citizen, I hope that after the merger, in the not too distant future, we will be able to hold in our hands a printed newspaper with a new name, new content, continuing the tradition, but at the same time being innovative, creative, and in line with the trend of the times. Through that, we can immerse ourselves in the flow of current events of a new city, firmly stepping on the journey with the nation to rise up in the era of development.
