
Continuing the working program in the Kingdom of Belgium, on the morning of December 4 (local time), the working delegation of Hai Phong city led by comrade Le Tien Chau, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the City's National Assembly Delegation worked with Mr. Johan Klaps, Deputy Mayor of Antwerp city, Chairman of the Antwerp-Bruges port.
Accompanying the delegation were Vietnamese Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium and Luxembourg and the Vietnamese Delegation to the European Union Nguyen Van Thao.
Evaluating the experience of Antwerp-Bruges port in the fields of smart port operations, green transformation, multimodal logistics, and renewable energy, City Party Secretary Le Tien Chau said that these are all areas that Hai Phong is prioritizing in the new development phase.

The City Party Secretary hopes that Antwerp-Bruges port will share its experience and provide technical support in seaport planning, smart port management, logistics optimization and multimodal transport system development.
Based on strengths and similarities, Hai Phong is willing to cooperate with Antwerp-Bruges port in developing green port models, reducing carbon emissions, converting energy, using green hydrogen, building clean fuel reception infrastructure and applying advanced environmental treatment technologies.
Welcoming the cooperation idea of the leaders of Hai Phong city, Mr. Johan Klaps, Deputy Mayor of Antwerp city, Chairman of Antwerp-Bruges port, said that Belgium is ready to coordinate with Hai Phong to promote cooperation in training human resources for maritime - logistics, scientific research, seaport engineering and marine environmental management between universities and businesses of both sides.

Mr. Johan Klaps believes that the friendly and open working session will contribute to promoting the cooperative relationship between Hai Phong city and Antwerp city, making practical contributions to the economic development of each side and deepening the Vietnam - Kingdom of Belgium relationship.
Antwerp is the second largest city in the Kingdom of Belgium and is also an important economic and commercial center of the Flanders region. Antwerp is located on the Scheldt River, about 80 - 90 km from the North Sea, playing a strategic role in European maritime traffic. Antwerp is a key urban area in the European trade network, famous for its large seaport, diamond industry and fashion - creative sector.
