Mr. Chu Van An, Deputy Director in charge of Khanh Hoa Department of Transport, said this afternoon that after clearing the mud, the construction team discovered 4 more rocks weighing hundreds of tons, blocking the surface of National Highway 27C, Km43 section through Khanh Le Pass (Khanh Vinh District).

At this location, last night, authorities used about 17kg of explosives to break up a rock weighing more than 100 tons blocking the road.

According to Mr. An, the rain has stopped at Khanh Le Pass. The forces are working hard to clean up and handle the landslide scene. Many forces, including workers from Khanh Hoa Road Construction and Management Joint Stock Company, are continuously drilling, chiseling and breaking up the rocks and using excavators to push the rocks out of the road surface.

“In case the rock is too hard to drill, the company will continue to use the blasting method,” said Mr. An. After completing the above plan, the unit will clean up and ensure traffic safety before opening the route. It is expected that the authorities will make efforts to clear the route to serve people traveling today.

Previously, on December 15, there were many landslides on National Highway 27C through Khanh Le Pass. Large rocks were lying in the middle of the national highway, paralyzing the road connecting Nha Trang to Da Lat and vice versa. More than 350 people in vehicles trapped in the landslide area were evacuated from the danger zone.
