With the participation of the Green Future Fund, the Youth Union of the units will implement 29 key projects aimed at improving the environment in 27 communes in 14 provinces and cities, bringing practical benefits to about 81,000 people in remote, isolated and mountainous areas.
With the support of the Green Future Fund, the Youth Union of 33 agencies, institutes and schools will implement nearly 30 projects in 14 provinces and cities across the country.
In Bach Long Vi island district, Hai Phong, some typical projects such as "Green frontline island" implemented by the Youth Union of Hanoi University of Culture will contribute to reducing pollution; and "Lighting up Bach Long Vi island district" implemented by the Youth Union of Thuy Loi University will replace some lighting systems using diesel generators on the island with solar powered lamp clusters.
In addition, the campaign also implemented 16 projects to light up 33,100 meters of rural roads with solar lights, along with well drilling, filter tank and toilet construction projects at highland schools, contributing to improving the living and learning conditions of the people.
Dr. Le Thai Ha, Executive Director of the Green Future Fund, highlighted the widespread significance of the Green Summer campaign, when volunteers will directly contribute to improving the living environment of tens of thousands of people.
This year's campaign has the participation of many units that have long been associated with the Green Summer movement such as the Youth Union of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment , Hanoi National University, Ho Chi Minh City National University, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Hue University and many other universities and research institutes. The coordination between youth forces and the Green Future Fund creates a resonant strength, spreading the spirit of volunteering for the community and the environment.
Comrade Ta Hong Son - Member of the Central Executive Committee of the Youth Union, Secretary of the Youth Union of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment - emphasized that the cooperation between the Youth Union of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and the Fund for a Green Future in the Green Summer 2025 campaign will open up great potential. "Replicating the model accompanying the Green Summer 2025 campaign and environmental activities is a strategic step, not only contributing to the implementation of the Net Zero 2050 goal but also affirming the pioneering role of young people in the agricultural and environmental sectors in creating a green future for the country" , Mr. Son shared.
Comrade Ta Hong Son, member of the Central Executive Committee of the Youth Union, Secretary of the Youth Union of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, emphasized the importance of connecting resources and networks of institutes and schools nationwide in the green transformation process.
Dr. Le Thai Ha, Executive Director of the Fund for a Green Future, said: “Accompanying the Green Summer 2025 campaign is one of the highlight activities to open the third year of operation of the Fund for a Green Future. From the campaign, we will witness positive changes, bright smiles and dreams lit up by the youth, enthusiasm and desire to contribute to a greener and more beautiful Vietnam of the youth union members”.
In the coming time, the Fund will continue to closely coordinate with Government agencies, non-governmental organizations, scientists and the community to develop environmental education programs. Continue to maintain and implement large-scale community activities such as the "Green Wednesday" campaign, "Act together for the blue sea", the "Green Voice" and "Send Green Future 2050" competitions, to encourage green lifestyles and raise awareness, promote environmental action and sustainable development in Vietnam.
