Efforts to ensure stable power supply at the end of the year

According to Can Tho City Electricity Company, in October and November 2025, the city's commercial electricity output increased by an average of over 2.7% compared to the same period in 2024 and it is forecasted that electricity consumption will continue to increase in December 2025. To ensure safe electricity supply requirements for the year-end production and business season as well as limit power outages and reductions, Can Tho City Electricity Company has directed functional departments and electricity management teams in communes and wards to strengthen day and night load inspections, especially in industrial parks and areas with many large manufacturing facilities and enterprises... to have priority power supply plans, to ensure stable and reliable power supply requirements, helping facilities and enterprises feel secure in production and completing orders for Tet 2026.

Along with regular load inspection, 28 power management teams also focus on repairing, maintaining and upgrading the power grid operation system; enhancing the application of technology in the management and automation of power system operations; using automatic monitoring and control systems to promptly detect incidents in the operation of transformer stations and power grids managed by their units; preparing human resources, equipment, spare transformers, promptly responding to incidents... to ensure continuous power supply, serving customers during the peak season at the end of the year.

To ensure the stable power supply for production enterprises during the peak Tet season, Can Tho City Electricity Company has encouraged enterprises and production facilities to use the correct capacity and load chart registered with power units; arrange reasonable production plans, minimize the mobilization of large electrical equipment; combine to cut at least 50% of the capacity of lighting systems in corridors, parking lots, and inactive premises in factories and production facilities; at the same time, shift part of production activities after 22:00... The Company also encouraged enterprises with electricity consumption of 1 million kWh/year or more to participate in the load adjustment and load shifting program, to save electricity during peak hours, helping enterprises save electricity consumption costs as well as helping the electricity industry reduce pressure on overloading the power system during peak hours.

Realizing the effectiveness of saving electricity on production costs and competitiveness, many businesses in the city have proactively implemented electricity saving solutions. Typically, Can Tho Seafood Import-Export Joint Stock Company (Caseamex) in Tra Noc 2 Industrial Park has invested in a rooftop solar power system with a capacity of nearly 1MW, meeting over 50% of the electricity demand for seafood processing activities; at the same time, upgrading and modernizing many equipment, cold chains, modern conveyor belts... in production activities. According to Mr. Huynh Viet Chuong, Head of Caseamex Electromechanical Department, thanks to the simultaneous application of many electricity saving solutions, the business has significantly reduced electricity costs as well as met the requirements of using green energy according to the standards of importers.

In December 2025 and the time before Lunar New Year, Can Tho City Electricity Company continues to promote the safe and economical use of electricity; maintain management and operational supervision; fully prepare human resources, equipment, and means to quickly handle incidents and promptly restore power supply in areas producing goods to serve the domestic and export markets as well as ensure stable power supply to serve the needs of socio -economic development and people's daily life during the peak season at the end of the year.
