Ha My Joint Stock Company: Affirming brand from product quality

Standing on a large raw material area - the former Binh Phuoc province, now Dong Nai province, known as the "capital" of cashew in Vietnam, along with focusing on investment to upgrade, aiming at green, sustainable production according to a closed process from garden to table, up to now, Ha My cashew products (Ha My Joint Stock Company, Dong Phu commune, Dong Nai province) have affirmed their brand in the Vietnamese cashew market and exported to countries around the world.

From 2023, salted roasted cashews, unsalted roasted cashews and white cashews are the first three cashew products of Ha My Joint Stock Company to be recognized as 5-star OCOP products (One Commune One Product Program). This is also the first time that a locality has a product recognized as a 5-star OCOP product at the national level.

Building large raw material areas

It is said that what makes the Ha My cashew brand is its unique flavor. Ha My cashew products possess the rich, crispy, fragrant flavor unique to the cashews of Binh Phuoc in the past, now Dong Nai province - famous nationwide not only for its area but also for the quality of its products.

As one of the businesses that grew from a small, local cashew production, trading and purchasing facility, Ms. Nguyen Thi My, General Director of Ha My Joint Stock Company, said: Having been associated with Dong Nai cashew for more than 30 years, I understand very well the value and quality of cashew nuts here, which not every growing area has. This land with its typical climate of a bit of sunshine, wind, and cold of the Central Highlands and two distinct rainy and sunny seasons, along with the soil - red basalt soil and traditional farming methods have created a unique flavor for Dong Nai cashew nuts.

Having identified that, as a business participating in the deep processing of cashew products, right from the first years of its establishment, Ha My Joint Stock Company has built for itself a large local raw material area. In addition to directly investing in the raw material area, the company also signed a contract to purchase cashew nuts for farmers in the communes: Phuoc Son, Tho Son, Dong Nai province. This land belongs to the deep area of Binh Phuoc province in the past, most of the cashew growers are ethnic minorities, growing in the traditional way, leaving it to nature, so although the output is not much, the quality of cashew nuts here is excellent. Up to now, despite applying science and technology to production, people here still persevere with organic and biological farming methods and take advantage of the advantages of nature to create the unique value of local cashew nuts. Up to now, the company has a large raw material area and purchases all local cashew nuts (if people have demand).

In particular, since being granted the certificate of right to use the geographical indication "Binh Phuoc Cashew Nuts", the company has built a system to trace the origin of products, using geographical indication signs on packaging and product labels, so it has been trusted by customers and partners. The company is cooperating and consuming products bearing the geographical indication "Binh Phuoc Cashew Nuts" with dozens of cooperative member households in the communes of Phuoc Son and Tho Son.

With a system of modern equipment and machinery from factories, warehouses, processing lines, product classification, sterilization, packaging... according to global standards on food safety (BRC), each year, Ha My Joint Stock Company produces, processes, and exports more than 3 thousand tons of finished cashew products, including deep processing, bringing in tens of billions of VND in profits. Currently, the company is maintaining regular jobs for hundreds of employees and workers with an average salary of more than 10 million VND/person/month.

With the initiative of abundant local raw materials, thereby contributing to reducing transportation costs, the company is focusing on deep processing of cashew products to serve the domestic and export markets.

Mr. Nguyen Son Binh, Deputy General Director of Ha My Joint Stock Company, said: In addition to producing raw cashews for export, in recent years, the company has invested in many machines and technical equipment for deep processing of products such as: White cashew nuts, salted roasted cashew nuts, unsalted roasted cashew nuts, cashew confectionery, cashew oil, cashew milk, garlic and chili cashew nuts, etc. Many Ha My cashew products have met 4-star and 5-star OCOP standards and have been well received by the market.

To improve competitiveness and meet the increasing demands of the market, Ha My continuously invests in modern production technology. The company has built a system of spacious, clean factories, equipped with advanced machinery from processing, preservation to product packaging.

Cashew products of Ha My Joint Stock Company are strictly controlled in quality according to international standards, ensuring food hygiene and safety and preserving the natural flavor of cashews. Up to now, Ha My Joint Stock Company has built a wide distribution network domestically and internationally. The company's products are present in many demanding markets such as: USA, EU, Japan, China. Ha My has become a trusted partner of many large customers in the world, affirming the position of Vietnamese cashews in the international market.
