On November 29, the International University and the University of the West of England celebrated 20 years of training cooperation. After 20 years of cooperation, the two schools have achieved many positive results, in which the two sides have trained 3,520 students.
At the ceremony, Associate Professor - Dr. Dinh Duc Anh Vu, Vice Rector of the International University, affirmed that the university education cooperation between the university and British partners has been actively contributing to promoting the internationalization process in training and research of the university.
In 2005, the joint training program between the two schools officially operated. During that time, the two schools have made efforts to cooperate and exchange information to build programs with increasingly high and similar training quality.
On this occasion, the two schools signed a strategic cooperation agreement. The two sides agreed to promote the implementation of projects and cooperation programs in areas such as: Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital transformation, biotechnology, advanced manufacturing, sustainable infrastructure and climate change adaptation; and develop scientific research models that bring academic value to both sides.
In addition, the two sides will also implement master's and doctoral training programs for lecturers of the International University according to the Government 's Project 89; cooperate in student exchange according to bilateral agreements (credit exchange), organize internship programs for students of the International University in the UK and vice versa.
"The school always values and identifies the University of the West of England - UK as one of its strategic partners. In the coming time, the parties will continue to cooperate in implementing new models, research cooperation; teaching cooperation (in the form of guest lecturers) and other activities to bring more choices to learners" - Associate Professor - Dr. Dinh Duc Anh Vu emphasized.
The International University has more than 10,000 students and more than 800 postgraduate and doctoral students. The school currently has 23 undergraduate training programs, 11 master's programs and 5 doctoral programs. The International University is one of the earliest higher education institutions in Vietnam to achieve international quality accreditation standards.
The University of the West of England is the 4th university in the South West of England in the overall rankings. It is also the 6th largest provider of scholarships of any university in the UK.
