A playground for tech-loving students.

The first Tay Ninh Provincial Robocon Competition in 2026, themed "Tay Ninh Rising in the New Era," is attracting the attention of students and young people in the province. This large-scale competition focuses on robot design, programming, and operation, creating a creative playground for young technology enthusiasts.

Upon learning about the Tay Ninh province Robocon competition, Than Huynh Hai Dang and Nguyen Tien Khoa, 10th-grade students from Tran Van Giau High School (Long An ward), were very excited. They are close friends who share a passion for robotics. Together, they designed, programmed, and operated robots, and have even participated in robotics competitions to showcase their skills and talents.

Thân Huỳnh Hải Đăng and Nguyễn Tiến Khoa formed a team to participate in the Tay Ninh Provincial Robocon competition.

Hai Dang said: “Khoa and I have known each other and gradually become close since 6th grade because we share similar interests, thoughts, and personalities. We formed a team to participate in robotics competitions because of this similarity. We have comparable abilities and get along very well in terms of personality and teamwork, which gives us many advantages in designing and programming robots. This time, we are forming a team again to participate in the Tay Ninh province Robocon competition because we want to have more experiences and compete positively with other like-minded individuals to broaden our knowledge, skills, and personal development.”

Driven by their passion for robotics, Dang and Khoa both have plans related to robotics in their future career choices. Accordingly, both are aiming for the technology sector. Khoa plans to work not directly with robots in the hardware field, but rather focus on programming, algorithms, and developing intelligent robots to apply artificial intelligence (AI) to assist human life. Therefore, Khoa intends to develop himself in the field of designing and programming newer, more highly applicable, optimized, and diverse types of intelligent robots, such as multi-purpose autonomous aircraft and rescue robots.

As for Dang, although he also has a focus on programming, he wants to further develop his skills in mechanics and hardware to specialize in both hardware and software. In the future, Dang also plans to apply AI and programming to electronic and mechanical devices. This competition is an opportunity for Khoa and Dang to hone their skills, gain more experience, and test their advanced knowledge of robotics.

Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Kim Trang, a computer science teacher at Tran Van Giau Specialized High School, shared: "The first Tay Ninh Provincial Robocon competition is a breakthrough in STEM education and encourages students to further develop their love for science and technology. Ten teams from our school registered for this competition. The students were very enthusiastic and prepared thoroughly. The school and its STEM Club also provided ongoing support to the teams in terms of facilities, advice, and professional guidance. This first-ever competition has brought a fresh perspective to students' learning and STEM education activities, helping them access technology and develop their thinking and creativity, especially in the fields of robotics and AI."

Students at Go Den Secondary School practice controlling robots.

At Go Den Secondary School (My Yen commune), preparations for the Tay Ninh Provincial Robocon competition are also in full swing. Immediately after the competition was launched, the school disseminated information to students and formed a team to participate.

Mr. Dang Thanh Danh, a computer science teacher at Go Den Secondary School, shared: “When students learned about the first Tay Ninh Provincial Robocon competition, they were very excited and many registered to participate. The competition opens up a very beneficial playground for them. Instead of being addicted to playing games, they can use computers to design and program software according to their own ideas. This is also an opportunity for them to access and experience a large-scale technology competition, thereby fostering their passion and having suitable directions for the future.”

“When I learned about the first Tay Ninh Provincial Robocon competition, I immediately registered because I wanted to learn more new knowledge and improve my robotics skills. I am very excited and proud to be part of the team to design, program, and operate the robot,” said Nguyen Huynh Khanh Nhu, a student from Go Den Secondary School.

An atmosphere of preparation is spreading across many schools in the province. Teams are taking advantage of the time to practice beforehand on the software as well as operate the robots directly to further hone their skills, thereby developing suitable strategies for the competition rounds.

With thorough preparation, an engaging competition format, and strong appeal from the high school and university community, the first Tay Ninh Provincial Robocon Competition in 2026 is expected to make a special mark in its inaugural season. From this platform, the aspirations of Tay Ninh's youth to conquer technology are being further fueled to reach greater heights.

The prize structure for the first Tay Ninh Province Robocon competition in 2026 includes:

- First prize: 20 million VND/prize;

- Second prize: 15 million VND/prize;

- Third prize: 10 million VND/prize;

- Encouragement prizes of 5 million VND each;

- One consolation prize of 2 million VND will be awarded to the youngest winner of the competition.

This is an adjusted prize by the competition organizers after the initial prize rules were issued, due to the high level of interest and participation from contestants in the province. This adjustment reflects timely encouragement and motivation for the participating teams.
