TPO – On July 20th, many universities in the Southern region, such as the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, Ton Duc Thang University, Nguyen Tat Thanh University, and Hoa Sen University, announced the minimum admission scores for the 2024 high school graduation exam results-based admission method.

At the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, there are two minimum admission scores at the university's two campuses.

For training programs in Ho Chi Minh City (school code KSA), the minimum admission score is 20 points.

For training programs at the Vinh Long Campus, final-year students will be transferred to the Ho Chi Minh City Campus (school code KSV), with a minimum score of 16 points.

The minimum quality assurance threshold for admission is the score for candidates from region 3, without any weighting factor. The admission combinations consist of 3 subjects/tests corresponding to each training program, and the subjects/tests are graded on a 10-point scale.

Meanwhile, Ton Duc Thang University uses a 40-point scale for admissions. The minimum admission scores for the method of admission based on high school graduation exam results for various majors range from 21 to 30.5 points.

The minimum admission score (on a 40-point scale) is the sum of the scores of the three subjects in the chosen combination (with weighted scores for each subject in the combination and the chosen major), plus any priority points for eligible candidates/regions (if applicable), rounded to two decimal places. Candidates who graduated from high school in 2022 or earlier are not eligible for regional priority policies.

How Ton Duc Thang University calculates priority points

Candidates who graduated from high school in 2022 or earlier are not eligible for regional priority policies.

Priority points for candidates achieving a total score of 30.0 (on a 40-point scale) or higher are determined by the following formula: Priority points (on a 40-point scale) = [(40 – Total score achieved)/10] x Priority points for region and category.

Example: A candidate with the following results in the 2024 high school graduation exam:

Math: 7.00 points; Literature: 7.00 points; English: 8.50 points

Candidates from Zone 1: 1.00 point.

Admission to the English Language major is based on the D01 combination (Mathematics, Literature, English), where English is weighted with a coefficient of 2.

Therefore, the admission score for candidates with the D01 combination in the English Language major is calculated as follows:

Admission score = Math score + Literature score + English score * 2 + Priority points

= 7.00 + 7.00 + 8.50*2 + 0.90 = 31.90 points

In which: Priority points = [(40.00 – 31.00)/10.00]*1.00 = 0.90 points.

At Nguyen Tat Thanh University, the minimum admission score for majors in the fields of Management - Law - Economics; Engineering - Technology; Fine Arts - Arts; and Social Sciences - Humanities is 15 points. However, the minimum admission score for majors in the Health Sciences group is 15 points, including: Medicine (23 points); Dentistry (22.5 points); Traditional Medicine (21 points); Pharmacy (21 points); Preventive Medicine, Nursing, Medical Laboratory Technology, and Rehabilitation Technology (19 points).

For majors with admission criteria including the Drawing Aptitude test (Architecture, Interior Design, Graphic Design, Piano, Vocal Music, Acting, Film and Television); candidates can participate in the Aptitude test organized by Nguyen Tat Thanh University or use the results of the Aptitude test from another university to combine with the prescribed subject combination for admission.

The Admissions Council of Hoa Sen University announces the minimum scores for application consideration based on the 2024 high school graduation exam results and the university's own admission methods for regular undergraduate programs in 2024.
