On August 27th, the Ministry of Interior held a ceremony to celebrate its 80th anniversary (August 28, 1945 - August 28, 2025) and the First National Emulation Congress of the Ministry of Interior (2025 - 2030), while also receiving the First Class Labor Order.
The ceremony was attended by General Secretary To Lam; former National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan. Also present were members of the Politburo: Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party - Head of the Central Organization Department Le Minh Hung; Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party - Head of the Central Internal Affairs Department Phan Dinh Trac; Standing Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh; Standing Member of the Subcommittee on Documents for the 14th Party Congress Nguyen Van Nen; General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense; and General Luong Tam Quang, Minister of Public Security .
Also present were Central Party Committee Secretary and Chief of the Central Party Office Le Hoai Trung; Vice Chairmen of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh and Nguyen Thi Thanh; Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son; Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long; leaders of various committees, ministries, branches, political and social organizations; embassies, international organizations; leaders of the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs from different periods…
Speaking at the commemoration ceremony, General Secretary To Lam affirmed: "Regardless of the period – wartime or peacetime, construction or reform – the Ministry of Interior has always been a steadfast, dedicated, and creative force, directly contributing to building national governance and caring for social welfare."
According to the General Secretary, given the country's particularly important position and role, the Ministry of Interior must define its mission in building development, caring for social welfare, working with the Party and the State to care for the happiness of the people, and striving to contribute to building a national administration that is service-oriented, democratic, rule-of-law, modern, effective, and efficient, managing social development fairly and sustainably, and ensuring that no one is left behind.
Entering a new phase of development, the General Secretary requested the Ministry of Interior and the entire sector to focus on perfecting the institutional framework for state administration, public service, civil servants, and social policies; building a streamlined, high-quality workforce of officials and civil servants capable of fulfilling their tasks; pioneering digital transformation and administrative reform, becoming a model within the system; and promoting a central role in advising on and implementing social security policies, ensuring comprehensiveness, inclusiveness, and effectiveness.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Interior needs to continue to profoundly innovate its emulation and reward system to truly create widespread emulation movements with great impact, arousing the aspiration to contribute in the new era of development.
According to the General Secretary, historical practice has proven that patriotic emulation is not about noise or appeals, but the success of emulation movements lies in inspiring people, creating enthusiasm, and deeply penetrating their hearts and minds, becoming a natural way of thinking and doing, like a way of life. The General Secretary expressed: "I look forward to outstanding emulation movements in the coming period so that we can once again see the 'Coastal Waves,' 'Great Winds,' 'Three Best Flags'... all new and innovative in this new era of development."
On behalf of the Party and State leaders, General Secretary To Lam affixed the Order to the traditional flag of the Ministry of Interior and presented certificates of merit and commendations to Minister of Interior Pham Thi Thanh Tra.
