STO - The sound of trumpets, the loud cheers from the auditorium and the decisive punches on the ring, all blend together to create a vibrant atmosphere at the Chau Thanh District Culture - Sports and Broadcasting Center Gymnasium (Soc Trang), where the 2025 Soc Trang Province Traditional Martial Arts and Vovinam Championship takes place. This tournament not only creates a useful playground, but also satisfies the passion of young martial artists and connects them to learn.

Indulge your passion on the ring

In the competition hall of the District Culture - Sports and Broadcasting Center, in addition to more than 200 martial artists from 12 districts, towns, cities and sectors competing in the martial arts and combat events, there were also many parents who came to watch and cheer for their children. Ms. Kim Thi Duong, Hoa Tu 1 commune (My Xuyen district) said: "Every time my child participates in the tournament, I always come to watch and support him. Although I see my child compete well, I am still very nervous waiting for the results."

The martial artists coming to the tournament not only have the opportunity to compete but also have the opportunity to exchange and learn from each other's experiences. Many of them wore official martial arts uniforms for the first time and were judged by the referees, which was a memorable experience. There were martial artists who were very young, sometimes confused, limited in their skills, injured, and in pain to the point of tears, but they were determined not to give up halfway. They came to this playground with passion and the courage of youth.

Male martial artist Ly Huu Dien - who contributed a gold medal to the Vovinam event for the host Chau Thanh excitedly said: " Coming to this tournament, I determined to compete with all my might, but in the spirit of "Solidarity - Honesty - Nobility". When the match ended, I won the championship, I felt very happy and joyful".

Place to practice personality

Not only stopping at the professional factor, organizing the tournament is also an opportunityto educate the personality of young martial artists through the spirit of respecting teachers, knowing how to lose , knowing how to win and respecting opponents. Female martial artist Vo Thi Anh Ngan - who contributed a gold medal in traditional martial arts for Thanh Tri district shared: " Before, I was very shy, but since practicing martial arts, I have become bolder and know how to control my emotions. When I entered the competition stage, I was very nervous, but thanks to the teacher's encouragement, I was able to boldly perform the form well and achieve the desired results ."

National Grand Master Vo Van Tien - Head of Thanh Tri District Traditional Martial Arts Club said: "Organizing a tournament like this not only creates opportunities for martial artists to compete, exchange, learn from each other, and improve their professional skills, but also contributes to promoting the martial arts movement in the province. Units and localities can discover and nurture young talents, preparing forces for upcoming tournaments."

Martial arts movement in Soc Trang in general, and in Chau Thanh district in particular, is increasingly developing and spreading in the community. Many martial arts clubs have been established and maintained effective operations, attracting a large number of young people to participate in training and competition.

Vice Chairman of Chau Thanh District People's Committee Nguyen Van My emphasized: "Traditional martial arts and Vovinam are two martial arts that are closely associated with the history and culture of the nation, demonstrating the spirit of resilience, bravery and perseverance in each of us Vietnamese. Every year, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Soc Trang coordinates with localities to take turns organizing tournaments, aiming to evaluate the movement of practicing martial arts in the province in general, Chau Thanh district in particular; strengthen exchanges, learn experiences and mutual understanding, improve martial arts skills, enhance health and solidarity between localities and units".

With the attention and investment of authorities at all levels and the constant efforts of martial artists and coaches, the traditional martial arts and Vovinam movement in Soc Trang is developing strongly. This is not only a healthy playground to help improve health, but also contributes to preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values ​​of the nation.
