Notice of flood release from Ba Thuoc 1 hydroelectric reservoir.

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - Hoang Anh Thanh Hoa Hydropower Joint Stock Company began releasing water from the Ba Thuoc 1 hydropower reservoir at 10 PM on July 12th and is expected to finish at 3 PM on July 18th, 2025.

According to a notice from Hoang Anh Thanh Hoa Hydropower Joint Stock Company, water is flowing into the Ba Thuoc 1 hydropower reservoir on the Ma River at a rate of 606 ^m³ /s; the discharge downstream from the Trung Son hydropower plant and the rainfall in the catchment area from Trung Son to Ba Thuoc 1 suggest that the inflow into the Ba Thuoc 1 reservoir is forecast to be between 750 ^m³ /s and 1,200 ^m³ /s.

Hoang Anh Thanh Hoa Hydropower Joint Stock Company will begin releasing water from the Ba Thuoc 1 hydropower reservoir at 10 PM on July 12, 2025, and is expected to end at 3 PM on July 18, 2025.

Spillway discharge rate: 50 ^m³ /s to 500 ^m³ /s (depending on the inflow to the reservoir).

The flow rate through the generator is 700 ^m³ /s.

The total water flow downstream is expected to be between 750 ^m³ /s and 1,200 ^m³ /s.

Following this announcement, the plant will issue flood forecast bulletins for the reservoir every 3 hours as stipulated in the Inter-Reservoir Operation Procedure on the Ma River and the Ba Thuoc 1 Reservoir Operation Procedure.

The flood release signal is given by three whistle blasts, each lasting 20 seconds and spaced 10 seconds apart.

Hoang Anh Thanh Hoa Hydropower Joint Stock Company requests the People's Committees of Thiet Ong, Ba Thuoc, Dien Lu, and Quy Luong communes to inform the people and villages along the Ma River to proactively plan for the protection of people, property, trees, crops, cattle, fish, livestock, aquatic products, houses, and buildings.

People are strictly prohibited from traveling, collecting firewood, or fishing in dangerous areas with a high risk of landslides and strong currents.

Hoang Anh Thanh Hoa Hydropower Joint Stock Company will not be liable for compensation for damages if households, organizations, individuals, communes, wards, and districts fail to implement preventive measures to protect people and property as stated in this notice.
