The meeting of the Executive Committee of the Binh Thuan Provincial Party Committee was successfully held, reaching a consensus on the plan to reorganize the three provinces of Binh Thuan, Lam Dong, and Dak Nong, and approving the plan to reorganize commune-level administrative units in Binh Thuan province.

On the morning of April 25th, the Executive Committee of the Binh Thuan Provincial Party Committee held a meeting to discuss the plan for rearranging commune-level administrative units in Binh Thuan province and the plan for rearranging provincial-level administrative units. Comrade Nguyen Hoai Anh – Alternate Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam – Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, chaired the meeting.

Also attending the conference were: Comrade Dang Hong Sy - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee - Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Comrade Do Huu Huy - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, members of the Provincial Party Committee, and leaders of a number of relevant departments and agencies.

Speaking at the conference, Comrade Nguyen Hoai Anh, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, emphasized: The rearrangement and merger of provincial and commune-level administrative units is a major policy of the Party. In recent times, closely following the guidance of the Central Committee, Binh Thuan province has focused on leading and directing the serious implementation, following the procedures, regulations, and requirements of the Central Committee and the province regarding the rearrangement and streamlining of the administrative apparatus. The Standing Committee and the Provincial Party Committee have devoted considerable time to providing opinions on matters within their authority. In addition, in implementing Resolution 60 of the 11th Plenum of the 13th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the three provinces of Binh Thuan, Lam Dong, and Dak Nong have also coordinated to develop a plan for the establishment of a new province, Lam Dong. The Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee, and the Standing Committees of districts, towns, and cities have also taken steps according to regulations to gather opinions from voters and People's Councils at the commune and district levels on the Plan for the reorganization of commune-level administrative units in Binh Thuan province and the Plan for the reorganization of provincial-level administrative units. The results of the voter consultation show high consensus from the people on both plans. The majority of voters agreed with the reorganization of commune-level administrative units and the merger of the three provinces of Binh Thuan, Lam Dong, and Dak Nong. The percentage of voters agreeing with both plans reached over 98%. 121/121 commune-level People's Councils and 10/10 district-level People's Councils approved the policy of reorganizing provincial-level administrative units and the policy of reorganizing commune-level administrative units in Binh Thuan province in 2025.

At the conference, delegates focused on discussing and giving opinions on the submission from the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee requesting opinions on the plan for rearranging and reorganizing commune-level administrative units in Binh Thuan province; and the plan for rearranging Lam Dong , Binh Thuan, and Dak Nong provinces.

Following discussions, the Provincial Party Committee held a secret ballot and unanimously approved the plan for rearranging commune-level administrative units in Binh Thuan province. Accordingly, after the rearrangement, Binh Thuan will have 45 commune-level administrative units, including 36 communes and 8 wards, and 1 Phu Quy special zone, reducing the number of commune-level administrative units by 76, achieving a rate of 62.8%, in compliance with central government regulations. Regarding the rearrangement plans for Lam Dong, Binh Thuan, and Dak Nong provinces, the conference also unanimously voted to establish one new provincial-level administrative unit based on the merger of the entire natural area and population of Lam Dong province (9,781.2 km², 1,595,597 people), Binh Thuan province (7,942.6 km², 1,531,253 people), and Dak Nong province (6,509.27 km², 746,149 people). The new province will be named Lam Dong Province, directly under the central government, with its administrative center located in Da Lat City, currently Lam Dong Province.

The Provincial People's Council voted to approve the resolution.

Also on the same afternoon, at its 34th session, the Binh Thuan Provincial People's Council approved the Resolution on the reorganization of commune-level administrative units in Binh Thuan province in 2025 and the Plan for the reorganization of provincial-level administrative units.
