Việt NamViệt Nam08/09/2024

The Vietnam Railways Corporation announced that early this morning (September 8th), they had cleared the damage caused by fallen trees on the North-South railway line due to Typhoon No. 3 passing through Hanoi, which had caused some trains to wait along the route and delayed departures from Hanoi station by several hours. Currently, trains are running normally.

On the Gia Lam – Hai Phong and Yen Vien – Lao Cai railway lines, many trees that had fallen onto the tracks have now been cleared, ensuring safety.

Units are clearing fallen trees from the railway tracks.

The Bac Hong – Van Dien route still has many locations where trees have fallen, and the unit is working to clear them. At Km20+40 – Km21+000, the floodwater has receded to the level of the rail tracks, and the unit has restored the road to a speed of 15km/h.

On the Hanoi – Dong Dang line, it is currently raining heavily, with many trees falling onto the railway tracks and water flooding the rails. The unit is continuing to monitor and clear the area to reopen the line as quickly as possible.

On the Mai Pha – Na Duong and Chi Linh – Pha Lai railway lines, many trees and communication poles have fallen onto the tracks. The unit is organizing the clearing of the debris to ensure the line is reopened as quickly as possible.

To date, the Kep – Ha Long – Cai Lan line has been most affected and damaged. Many trees and communication poles have fallen onto the railway. The unit is organizing clearance to ensure the line is reopened as quickly as possible. The roofs of Yen Cu and Ha Long stations, as well as the headquarters of the Yen Cu and Cai Lan sections of the railway line, have been blown off. The eaves of the platform at Ha Long station have been completely destroyed, and the basic structure of the platform roof has been lost.

Regarding signaling information, many information poles have fallen onto the railway tracks, and many level crossing barriers have broken.

The Vietnam Railways Corporation stated that its units have quickly cleared fallen trees from railway tracks on various railway lines, ensuring the safety of the infrastructure and railway transport; the Hanoi Railway Signal and Information Joint Stock Company has organized repairs and security measures at locations where barriers were broken.

Currently, trains on the North-South route are running normally. However, the Hanoi-Hai Phong route continues to cancel passenger trains scheduled for September 8th, as previously announced.
