The Hanoi Investment, Trade, and Tourism Promotion Center announced that, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of Hanoi (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024), in mid-September, the center will continue to advise the city on organizing the 2nd Hanoi Autumn Festival in 2024. The festival aims to promote the beauty, cultural and historical values, and tourism of the capital city. It also seeks to highlight the unique and attractive features, and honor the landmarks, historical sites, and heritage of Hanoi – making it an attractive, high-quality, and safe tourist destination.

According to the plan, in addition to the opening ceremony and the "Autumn in Hanoi" art program taking place from 7:30 PM to 10:00 PM on September 13th at the stage in the flower garden area of Ba Kieu Temple, there will be approximately 150 booths participating in the Festival, divided into areas designed and set up along Dinh Tien Hoang Street, Le Thach Street, and the Octagonal House area.

The highlights of the Festival include spaces and models showcasing Hanoi's historical relics; a space recreating the image of bustling Hanoi filled with flags and flowers welcoming the victorious army returning home; the "Hanoi 12 Seasons of Flowers" space; an area introducing typical tourism products and destinations; a space promoting traditional craft village products; and the "Flavors and Colors of Hanoi" culinary space.

In addition, there are booths promoting tourism from various provinces and cities. There are also booths from international tourism agencies to introduce cultural and tourism destinations from different countries, promoting bilateral tourism activities. There is also a cultural, artistic, and entertainment experience space called "Hanoi - The Rhythm of Youth."

The program also includes activities such as parades and performances by the City Youth Union and 30 districts, towns, and cities (lion and dragon dance from Thanh Oai district, Mid-Autumn lantern procession from Son Tay district, kite display from Dong Anh, Me Linh flower display, Te Tieu - My Duc puppet show...).

Activities showcasing Hanoi's culinary culture include: introducing the art of preparing and enjoying West Lake lotus tea; traditional products made from young rice flakes from Cau Giay and Nam Tu Liem districts; Hang Than young rice flake cakes; Hang Duong preserved fruits; Phu Thuong sticky rice; Phung spring rolls; Quan Ganh sticky rice cakes; Phu Nhi rice cakes; and traditional Hanoi cuisine, both past and present. Activities also include folk dances, sports dances; ao dai fashion show; a children's parade; children's painting; and a children's art exhibition. Product and cultural tourism destination presentations will take place on stage and at booths, focusing on districts with tourism development potential. An exhibition showcasing Hanoi through photographs, themed "Hanoi Autumn - A Historical Autumn," will present documentary and photojournalism about Hanoi commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital, will be held in courtyard 3 in front of the Ly Thai To monument.

Currently, Hanoi leads the country in the number of cultural heritage sites with nearly 6,000 cultural and historical relics; including 16 special national relics and relic clusters, nearly 1,200 national-ranked relics, and notably, the Thang Long Imperial Citadel Central Relic Area, recognized as a World Heritage Site by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). Exploiting the beauty of Hanoi in autumn and developing it into attractive and creative tourism products are key areas that the capital's tourism industry is focusing on.

According to Tran Trung Hieu, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism, Hanoi is currently paying special attention to developing products that bear the unique and distinctive mark of the capital city. This includes focusing on developing cultural tourism products based on Hanoi's rich, unique, and distinctive tourism resources. The city is concentrating resources on improving the quality of destinations and developing attractive and professional tourism products.
