For over 12 years, Mr. Nguyen Van Khanh, the head teacher in charge of the Youth Union at Thuan Bac Ethnic Boarding Secondary School (Thuan Bac commune), has not only contributed to building a strong school Youth Union but has also devoted himself to training skills and nurturing character, helping many generations of ethnic minority students grow into mature individuals.

With a sense of responsibility and a progressive spirit, for many years, Mr. Khanh has always proactively studied on his own and actively participated in training courses to improve his professional skills and expertise. He has demonstrated his capabilities through numerous competitions and examinations organized by various levels and sectors, achieving outstanding results such as: being recognized as a Level I Professional Trainer in Youth Union work skills at the Kim Dong Training Camp in 2017; third prize in the Provincial Competition for Excellent Youth Union Leaders in the 2023-2024 school year; and being the contestant with the highest score in the innovation section of the competition...

In addition to focusing on professional development, Mr. Khanh effectively applies the knowledge and skills acquired through his training to practical work through many practical initiatives. A prime example is his initiative "Some measures to ensure security and order in Thuan Bac Ethnic Boarding Junior High School," which was recognized as a grassroots-level initiative by the Department of Education and Training in 2021. This initiative has made a positive contribution to building school discipline, raising students' awareness of complying with school regulations, and creating a safe, friendly, and disciplined learning environment.

During the 2024-2025 school year, Mr. Khanh guided students in implementing the project "A Support Kit for Attacking and Passing in Volleyball," which won third prize in the Mechanical Engineering category at the Provincial Science and Technology Competition for High School Students and was recognized by the local government as an Outstanding Emulation Soldier at the grassroots level.

Energetic and creative

According to Mr. Khanh, in addition to knowledge, boarding school students need to focus on moral education, life skills, and discipline. From this perspective, he has proactively researched, developed plans, and implemented many practical solutions to improve the effectiveness of student management and education. A prominent example is the "Three Goods" model, which includes: Good in academics, good in daily life, and good in discipline and training. Implemented since the 2019-2020 school year, this model has contributed to students improving their self-discipline in learning, strictly adhering to school regulations, maintaining personal hygiene, and keeping the boarding school environment clean and tidy. The model also helps students foster a spirit of solidarity, awareness of protecting shared property, saving electricity and water, and actively supporting each other in their studies through activities such as "Study Buddies" or study groups in the dormitory rooms.

From the 2022-2023 school year to the present, Mr. Khanh has also advised on the implementation of the "Self-Management Team" model with 7 team members responsible for monitoring and supervising daily living arrangements, hygiene, and dormitory room organization, and 16 team members monitoring the competition of the class teams. This model has created a clear transformation in building order and discipline in the school, classrooms, and dormitory area. Mr. Khanh shared: "The unique characteristic of Thuan Bac Ethnic Boarding Junior High School is that students study and live at the school. Therefore, moral education and life skills training for them are especially important. When trained in self-management skills and knowing how to manage each other, students will become more aware of their responsibilities to the group, thereby proactively completing the tasks of the team well."

Mr. Nguyen Huu Tuong - Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thuan Bac commune, Secretary of the Youth Union, and Chairman of the Children's Council of Thuan Bac commune: Mr. Nguyen Van Khanh is a dynamic and exemplary "leader" of the Children's Council. With responsibility and love for his profession, he has had many innovative initiatives to improve the content and methods of the Children's Council's activities, creating a beneficial practical training environment for students. His contributions not only help build a stronger Children's Council but also create an important foundation to help ethnic minority students develop comprehensively and mature.

Under the leadership of Mr. Khanh, for the past 5 years, the Youth Union of Thuan Bac Ethnic Boarding Junior High School has consistently achieved the title of "Strong Youth Union" and received many commendations from the higher-level Youth Union Council. In the 2025-2026 school year, the school's Youth Union excellently won second prize at the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers' Ceremony Competition organized by Cluster No. 5 - Khanh Hoa Provincial Youth Union.

With his outstanding achievements, at the ceremony commemorating the 85th anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers Organization (May 15, 1941 - May 15, 2026) and honoring outstanding team leaders and members of the province in 2026, Mr. Nguyen Van Khanh was honored by the Provincial Youth Council as an exemplary team leader of the province.
