According to the General Department of Taxation's report, total state budget revenue managed by the tax authorities in August 2024 is estimated at VND 94,200 billion, reaching 6.3% of the projected target and 109.9% compared to the same period last year.
For the first eight months of the year, total state budget revenue managed by the Tax authorities is estimated at 1,146,828 billion VND, equivalent to 77.2% of the legally mandated budget estimate and 117.9% compared to the same period last year.

Of this total, revenue from crude oil is estimated at VND 39,364 billion, equivalent to 85.6% of the projected figure and 97.4% compared to the same period last year. Domestic revenue is estimated at VND 1,107,464 billion, equivalent to 76.9% of the projected figure and 118.8% compared to the same period last year.
Seventeen out of twenty revenue items and tax categories have an estimated implementation rate exceeding 70%, including some major items such as: Revenue from the state-owned enterprise sector (72.6%); Revenue from the foreign-invested enterprise sector (73.4%); Revenue from the non-state sector (81.4%).
In addition, some tax categories have high implementation rates, such as personal income tax (81.3%); fees and charges (80.7%); revenue from land and water surface leases (108.9%); revenue from lottery activities (82.1%); other budget revenues (94.1%); revenue from the difference between revenue and expenditure of the State Bank (229%);...
The General Department of Taxation also reported that 25 out of 63 localities had a higher rate of budget implementation than the overall rate for the entire sector (77.2%). 53 out of 63 localities saw an increase in revenue compared to the same period last year. 10 out of 63 localities had lower revenue compared to the same period last year.
In September 2024, the General Department of Taxation will closely follow the directives of the Government, the Prime Minister, and the Ministry of Finance regarding the implementation of key tasks and solutions for the socio-economic development plan and the 2024 state budget estimate, as well as Prime Minister's Official Dispatch No. 85/CĐ-TTg on the management of the state budget estimate, in order to organize the implementation of solutions to strive for the highest possible completion of the 2024 state budget revenue collection task.
At the same time, closely monitor the progress of revenue collection, evaluate and analyze the revenue situation in each locality, each revenue area, each revenue item, each tax category, and finalize the plan for allocating the 2025 state budget revenue estimates.
The organization will focus its dissemination efforts on the draft amendments to the Value Added Tax Law; the global minimum tax; digital transformation in the tax sector; value-added tax refunds; standardization of tax identification numbers; invoice risk prevention; fulfilling tax obligations for e-commerce and digital platform businesses; inspection and auditing work; and tax debt collection and recovery.
Continue reviewing the tax refund processing work in localities and advise on measures to strengthen VAT management, coordinating with units to overcome difficulties and accelerate the tax refund processing progress.
