The challenge for the V-League relegation battle group.

Because the points difference is so narrow, just one loss could drag the team from a safe position down to the relegation zone.

As the 2025-2026 V-League season enters its final stages, the results of round 24 could become a turning point that determines the future of many clubs this season, including Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAGL), Becamex Ho Chi Minh City, PVF-CAND, andSHB Da Nang.

Due to the narrow point difference, just one loss could drag a team from a safe position down to the relegation zone. Among the clubs still at risk of relegation, at 7:15 PM on May 22nd, PVF-CAND will travel to Hang Day Stadium to face The Cong Viettel . The league's newcomers have begun to feel the harsh realities of the V-League, consistently remaining in the bottom two of the standings.

Similar to PVF-CAND, SHB Da Nang , also in the bottom group, faces a very high risk of relegation. A draw in round 23 temporarily helped the team escape the bottom of the table, but it's still not enough to create the necessary stability. Hosting Hai Phong FC in round 24 (6 PM on May 23rd) is an opportunity for coach Le Duc Tuan's team to maximize points. This is because Hai Phong has already achieved its goal of avoiding relegation and will likely rest some key players and field a reserve team when playing away at Chi Lang Stadium.

HAGL FC is also caught in the relegation battle. The team from the mountainous region was once in a safe position, but a recent slump has dragged them down to the relegation zone or into the relegation play-offs. What worries fans is that HAGL FC will struggle to secure maximum points in the remaining three rounds, as they face Thanh Hoa, Hanoi, and Becamex Ho Chi Minh City respectively.

Becamex Ho Chi Minh City FC is in a similar situation to HAGL. Therefore, the direct clash between the two teams in the final round of the season at Go Dau Stadium is considered a "relegation battle". Becamex Ho Chi Minh City FC is currently ranked 12th in the standings with 21 points after 23 matches, just 3 points behind Song Lam Nghe An (SLNA).

If SLNA wins against Nghe An in round 24 (6 PM on May 24th), coach Hua Hien Vinh's team will increase their chances of avoiding relegation. The match between the two sides is unpredictable because SLNA also needs at least one more win to continue participating in the V-League next season.
