Prime Minister: Quang Tri needs to 'think deeply, act big'

TPO - On the afternoon of July 26, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh inspected the progress of the North-South Expressway project (Cam Lo - Van Ninh section), Quang Tri Airport, and the My Thuy Port Area project.

The Van Ninh - Cam Lo section of the North-South Expressway Eastern section, phase 2021-2025, has a total investment of over 9,919 billion VND. To date, the main works have been basically completed. Only the finishing work on 3 overpasses, interchanges, and traffic safety remains. Contractors are working 3 shifts, 4 teams, striving to complete the project by the end of July or early August, and put it into operation on August 19th.

The Van Ninh - Cam Lo section of the expressway project is being urgently expedited.

The My Thuy Port area is a key project of the province, covering an area of ​​685 hectares with a total investment of 15,000 billion VND, invested by My Thuy International Port Joint Venture Company. The project is divided into 3 phases, of which phase 1 has a total investment of over 5,900 billion VND, with construction time from 2023 to 2027.

Currently, the land clearance work for phase 1 has been completed, and construction is underway on four berths. Efforts are being focused on accelerating the progress of all project components.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh inspected the Quang Tri Airport construction project. The project is divided into two sub-projects: Sub-project 1 - Land clearance; Sub-project 2 - Airport construction. Currently, the apron and curb construction have been completed, and the runway and taxiway construction are underway; the passenger terminal and air traffic control tower are also under construction.

The Prime Minister encouraged officials and workers constructing the Quang Tri Airport.

After hearing reports on the progress of key projects, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh acknowledged and commended the efforts of the province, departments, and investors. The Prime Minister highly appreciated the potential and strengths of Quang Tri province and suggested appropriate directions to further develop his homeland.

The Prime Minister noted that, along with accelerating the progress of key projects, it is necessary to improve planning and effectively exploit the advantages of transportation to develop industry, urban areas, services, tourism, high-tech agriculture, etc., gradually bringing the lives of the people to a more prosperous and happy life.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh urged provincial leaders and departments to boldly "think deeply and act big," making the most of the strengths of the highway system, coastal roads, airports, and seaports... to promote regional connectivity and further develop Quang Tri province.

The Prime Minister requested that Quang Tri province be prepared to implement the high-speed railway project in the near future. He also outlined specific timelines for the projects and urged investors to focus all their efforts on completing them on schedule.
