Prime Minister: Quang Tri needs to 'think deeply, do big'

TPO - On the afternoon of July 26, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh inspected the progress of the North-South Expressway Project, Cam Lo - Van Ninh section; Quang Tri Airport and My Thuy Port Project.

The Van Ninh - Cam Lo section project is part of the North - South Eastern Expressway Construction Project for the 2021-2025 period, with a total investment of over VND9,919 billion. Up to now, the main volumes have been basically completed. Only the work of completing 3 overpasses, intersections and traffic safety remains. Contractors are working in 3 shifts, 4 teams, striving to complete the project by the end of July and the beginning of the month, and put it into operation on August 19.

The Van Ninh - Cam Lo expressway project is being urgently accelerated.

My Thuy Port Area is a key project of the province, with an area of ​​685 hectares, a total investment of 15,000 billion VND, invested by My Thuy International Port Joint Venture Joint Stock Company. The project is divided into 3 phases, of which phase 1 has a total investment of more than 5,900 billion VND, construction time from 2023 to 2027.

Currently, the first phase of site clearance has been completed, construction of 4 wharfs is underway, and the items are being focused on speeding up progress.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh inspected the progress of the My Thuy Port Project.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh inspected the Quang Tri Airport Construction Investment Project. The project is divided into two sub-projects: Sub-project 1 - Site clearance; Sub-project 2 - Airport construction. The apron and material curbs have been completed, and the runway and taxiway construction is underway; the passenger terminal and air traffic control tower are under construction.

The Prime Minister encouraged officers and workers constructing Quang Tri Airport.

After listening to the progress report of key projects, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh acknowledged and commended the efforts of the province, departments, branches and investors. The Prime Minister highly appreciated the potential and strengths of Quang Tri province and suggested suitable directions to further develop his homeland Quang Tri.

The Prime Minister noted that, along with speeding up the progress of key projects, it is necessary to complete planning work and effectively exploit transportation advantages to develop industry, urban areas, services, tourism, high-tech agriculture, etc., gradually making people's lives more prosperous and happy.

The Prime Minister and leaders of Quang Tri province presented gifts to officials and workers constructing key projects.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested provincial leaders, departments and branches to boldly "think deeply, do big", make full use of the strengths of the highway system, coastal roads, airports, seaports... to promote regional and area connectivity, making Quang Tri increasingly developed.

The head of the Government requested Quang Tri to be mentally prepared to implement the high-speed railway project in the coming time. The Prime Minister also pointed out some specific timelines for the projects and asked the investors to focus all their efforts to complete them on schedule.
