Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha has just signed Official Dispatch No. 4/CD-TTg dated January 16, 2025, from the Prime Minister on strengthening the assurance of traffic order and safety during the Lunar New Year and Spring Festival 2025.

The official dispatch states that on December 12, 2024, the Prime Minister issued Official Dispatch No. 132/CĐ-TTg directing ministries, sectors, and localities to improve the effectiveness of ensuring traffic order and safety.
During the Lunar New Year (Year of the Snake) and Spring Festival 2025, traffic volume is expected to continue to increase, putting significant pressure on traffic safety and order, and posing a potential risk of traffic congestion and accidents.
To ensure traffic order and safety for the people celebrating the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Snake and the Spring Festival 2025, the Prime Minister requested ministries, agencies, and localities to develop plans to meet the increased travel demand and effectively respond to common traffic violations during holidays and Tet to ensure the safety of road users and best serve the travel needs of the people.
At the same time, the head of government requested measures to prevent and stop traffic congestion and traffic accidents.
It is necessary to strengthen medical personnel, equipment, and supplies to ensure the highest possible capacity in medical examination and treatment, especially in emergency care and rescue of traffic accident victims, and to minimize human casualties.
Media outlets increased the airtime and content of their coverage on traffic order and safety during the Lunar New Year (Year of the Snake) and Spring Festival 2025, focusing on disseminating traffic safety laws and providing guidance on safe driving skills, especially on highways.
The Prime Minister requested that the plans of the People's Committees of provinces and cities must be specific, include a detailed list of tasks, assign responsible agencies, and allocate resources for implementation. During implementation, there must be monitoring, supervision, and quantitative evaluation of effectiveness using specific indicators.
The competent focal point is assigned to organize a 24/7 duty roster and report on the traffic safety situation during the 9-day Lunar New Year holiday of the Year of the Snake (from January 25th to February 2nd, which is from the 26th day of the 12th lunar month of the Year of the Dragon to the 5th day of the 1st lunar month of the Year of the Snake) to the National Traffic Safety Committee.
Specifically, the quick report must be submitted before 2 PM each day, and the consolidated report for the 9-day Lunar New Year holiday must be submitted before 2 PM on February 2nd.
