TPO - The Prime Minister stated that, according to estimates for the first six months and the entire year, the demands will be particularly high in the coming period, requiring decisive action and tremendous effort to ensure double-digit growth targets are met.

The progress of the work will be publicly announced.

On the morning of June 3rd, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung chaired the regular Government meeting for May 2026.

According to the agenda, the session will focus on discussing: the socio-economic situation in May and the first five months of 2026; the allocation and disbursement of public investment capital; the implementation of national target programs; the direction and management of the Government and the Prime Minister; the results of the assigned tasks; the progress in implementing tasks related to science and technology development, innovation, digital transformation, Project 06, and administrative procedure reform; and tasks requiring focused direction in June and the coming period.

In his opening remarks, the Prime Minister highly appreciated the innovative approach and report preparation work of the Ministry of Finance, the Government Office, and other functional ministries and agencies, especially the Ministry of Public Security - the permanent agency of the Government's Steering Committee on science and technology development, innovation, digital transformation, and Project 06.

The reports were highly comprehensive, providing very specific assessments of the developments and results of May and the first five months of the year across various sectors; they also pointed out existing problems, limitations, difficulties, and especially the progress of work in handling tasks by ministries and agencies, and proposed solutions. The Prime Minister stated that after the meeting, the progress of work handling would be publicly announced on the Government's Electronic Information Portal.

Emphasizing and suggesting further discussion points, the head of the government stated that in the recent period, especially in April and May, we have focused strongly on improving the institutional framework, resulting in much greater progress, including the preparation of draft laws to be submitted to the National Assembly and the acceleration of the processing of outstanding documents…

However, the Prime Minister emphasized that the workload in the coming period remains very high, and if efforts are not continued at the same pace as before, it could lead to delays in completing tasks and affect the concrete implementation and institutionalization of the Party's guidelines and the National Assembly's decisions.

Regarding the socio-economic situation, the Prime Minister stated that relatively positive results were achieved in May and the first five months of the year, with macroeconomic stability being basically maintained. However, there are signs that require close attention, particularly concerning inflation control and the failure to meet growth targets in certain specific sectors…

The Prime Minister stated that, based on estimates for the first six months and the entire year, the demands will be particularly high in the coming period, requiring decisive action and tremendous effort to ensure double-digit growth targets are met.

The resolution of the Government meeting will specify concrete tasks, and the Prime Minister requests that ministers, heads of departments, and heads of ministerial-level agencies pay special attention to directing these tasks in their respective fields.

Government leaders will continue to work with localities, some ministries and sectors that are still growing below their potential, failing to achieve the set targets and plans, conducting thorough analyses and developing more decisive solutions for implementation in the coming period.

Regarding other major issues, such as the implementation of strategic resolutions, especially Resolution 57 of the Politburo, the Prime Minister stated that agencies have made many innovations in their working methods, resulting in significant progress and achievements. However, the requirements are very high, and ministers and heads of sectors must pay close attention to several aspects, including: fully and comprehensively completing the institutional framework; ensuring infrastructure and design for interconnectedness between the central government, ministries, and localities; developing and concretizing strategic technology product lists to achieve final products; and training human resources.
