Thuan Nguyen felt pressured when filming 'intimate scenes' with Kaity Nguyen in an 18+ movie.

The film "The Last Wife" has just released a behind-the-scenes video showing the making of a romantic scene between the two main actors, Kaity Nguyen and Thuan Nguyen.

The crew of "The Last Wife" has just revealed behind-the-scenes footage of the filming of the steamy love scenes between Linh (Kaity Nguyen) and Nhan (Thuan Nguyen).

These were the most stressful scenes for both the actors and director Victor Vũ. This was made even more difficult by the fact that this was the first time Victor Vũ had tackled intimate scenes in one of his films.

Sharing his thoughts on the intimate scenes in the film, director Victor Vũ said: “This is the first time I’ve seen these scenes as truly necessary in my film. All the lovemaking scenes in the film are to build the deep emotional connection between the characters Linh and Nhân.”

When people live in a society where love is not considered a top priority, they are almost forced to bury and repress all their emotions and desires for happiness behind moral prejudices.

Director Victor Vũ is focused on the film set.

Besides the explicit scenes, The Last Wife also contains many details that depict the cruelty that the characters endure in the story, which is why the film is rated 18+.

"I really wanted to keep the full content of this scene, without cutting or toning it down, so that the audience could experience the emotional range of the film in the most complete way," the director affirmed.

As for Kaity Nguyen, she revealed that she felt awkward filming the intimate scenes. She admitted that she had always been shy and never thought she would be in a film with so many sensitive scenes.

However, Kaity Nguyen understands that this is already her sixth film and she doesn't want to be confined to playing it safe forever.

"If we let personal likes and dislikes get in the way too much, it wouldn't be right, because if that's what Dieu Linh needs to do for the story to continue, then Kaity has no choice but to do it," the actress shared.

Kaity Nguyen said that director Victor Vu always ensured that the filming of intimate scenes was done safely for the actors. She was provided with blankets to ensure privacy, and the film crew were people who had worked with her on many films, so they understood and respected her private space.

The actress also borrowed some alcohol to help her "get through" the intimate scenes with Thuan Nguyen.

Although she knew Thuan Nguyen always made her feel very comfortable working with him, Kaity still needed a little alcohol to lessen her shyness and easily immerse herself in the character.

Kaity Nguyen and Thuan Nguyen have many intimate photos together in the film.

Meanwhile, Thuan Nguyen admitted that he felt quite pressured. As a male actor, he understood that he would be somewhat less awkward and shy than his female co-star. Thuan Nguyen was always worried that his actions, if not handled skillfully, would be perceived as inappropriate by Kaity Nguyen.

Therefore, the actor always tries to find the most subtle and professional ways to perform. He and Kaity Nguyen spent many days discussing and finding the appropriate gestures and movements in the sensitive scenes.

"We discussed things a lot, constantly coming up with options, and giving Kaity complete freedom to choose," Thuan Nguyen shared.

The Last Wife will have early screenings after 6 PM on November 1st and 2nd, 2023. The film will begin showing in theaters on November 3rd, 2023.
