Promoting cooperation in applying IoT and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in industrial production between Vietnam and India

Based on the potential for cooperation in the technology field between Vietnam and India, the Vietnam Trade Office in India in collaboration with the NASSCOM Advanced Practice Center on IoT and Artificial Intelligence (AI) under the National Association of Software and IT Services of India has surveyed and selected suitable applications to promote digital transformation in industrial production in Vietnam.

The delegation including the Trade Office, the Science and Technology Department and officials from the Embassy in India worked with the Center for Advanced Models.

Among them, two outstanding solutions with high practical implementation potential include:

1- Energy consumption monitoring and optimization system using Internet of things:
Currently being applied at an Indian textile enterprise, the system uses smart sensors and an online dashboard to monitor the real-time electricity consumption of each machine, detect abnormalities and issue warnings. In Vietnam, this solution can help factories save electricity, avoid equipment damage and reduce production costs – especially in energy-consuming industries such as textiles, footwear, wood processing and plastics.

2- AI-powered Visual Inspection: uses industrial cameras and AI algorithms to detect errors, check product size accuracy in real time with extremely low error (under 50 microns). This application is especially useful in the precision engineering industry, auto-motorcycle components, electronic equipment, helping to improve quality, reduce dependence on manual labor and increase competitiveness in exports.

Some other typical solutions deployed by the Indian Center of Excellence include diesel consumption monitoring and analysis system; Camera attendance system at the factory; Predictive maintenance system to reduce machine downtime; Scrap monitoring through AI combined with CCTV; Smart design suggestions in the jewelry industry; Real-time production data management using electronic logs; Quality inspection of auto parts using multi-camera AI. Interested businesses please see the attached list for details.

The Vietnam Trade Office in India will continue to connect, promote cooperation in testing and transferring appropriate technologies to Vietnamese enterprises, contributing to the process of industrialization, modernization and development of smart manufacturing in the country.
