Fully exploit potential and advantages.
A Lưới is a locality with great potential and strengths, possessing many unique local products to promote successful business startups and build strong brands. These include developing brands for local products and specialties such as A Lưới yellow cattle, sturgeon, dwarf banana, A Lưới goat, and Ra Du rice; and developing valuable medicinal herbs such as Bo Chinh ginseng, Thien Nien Kien, Ba Kich, and medicinal plants found under the forest canopy. In addition, A Lưới is known for its cultural products and traditional rural crafts: Dèng weaving, traditional brocade, various types of wine, and woven products; tourism products: A Nôr waterfall, A Roàng hot spring, Hồng Hạ waterfall…; and historical and cultural relics of ethnic groups: A Riêu Car ceremony, Kâr Lơi singing, Cha Chấp singing…
Despite possessing significant potential and advantages in terms of human resources, cultural and historical values, and local resources, the entrepreneurial spirit among young people and businesses remains low. The application of science and technology in production and the enhancement of product value and design are still limited. At the forum, Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, Chairman of the People's Committee of A Luoi District, expressed his hope for attention, support, and promotion of innovative entrepreneurship from entrepreneurs and businesses, fostering the formation of startups with the potential to develop new technologies and business models. The Chairman of the People's Committee of A Luoi District also hoped to mobilize and call upon external and internal resources to exploit intellectual property and local potential for innovative business startups that align with A Luoi's potential, strengths, and development orientation.
Fostering a spirit of innovative entrepreneurship.
At the forum, several young people and new entrepreneurs in A Luoi expressed their concerns about how to generate good startup ideas and achieve business success, as well as how to access technologies that support production, packaging, and labeling. Ms. Ho Thi Nga, a member of the A Luoi Safe Agricultural Products Production and Trading Cooperative, shared that many local specialty products, including those made from dwarf bananas (fresh bananas, dried bananas, banana candy, banana flour, etc.), are still not "satisfactory." The products lack the attractive colors and visual appeal compared to many products from other provinces and cities, even though the quality is comparable. This is why the production volume and sales of these products are not as high as expected.
Clarifying these issues, Mr. Truong Thanh Hung, CEO of FiNNO Group and Vice Chairman of the National Innovation and Entrepreneurship Advisory Council, stated that encouraging and promoting the formation and development of innovation-based businesses, also known as startups, is crucial. These businesses have the potential for rapid growth based on the exploitation of intellectual property, technology, and new business models. According to Mr. Hung, first and foremost, each young person and household business intending to participate in innovation-based entrepreneurship needs to identify their advantages and determine what those advantages are in order to participate in entrepreneurship, launch, and develop products and brands... based on cultural, historical, and local resource values.
Addressing concerns about branding, entrepreneurship, and technological support among young people, households, and businesses, Dr. Ho Thang shared information about the province's programs, projects, and policies supporting branding, market development of key products, and startup businesses. For A Luoi, the province has supported the development of several brands and collective trademarks such as woven fabrics, "ra du" rice, and will soon support the development of "A Luoi" branded products like yellow beef, sturgeon, black sticky rice, dwarf bananas, and tourism. The Science and Technology sector will always accompany and support startups from their initial stages, including communication, trade promotion, technology transfer, branding, and intellectual property development.
In addition to discussions, sharing, and suggestions for the future development of the innovation and startup ecosystem in the district, some opinions suggested that A Luoi district needs to create an environment that promotes business startups and innovation, develop projects in potential industries, and set challenges for businesses to participate in the district's key sectors. It is necessary to mobilize the participation of all components of the ecosystem, including government agencies, schools, socio -political organizations, the business community, and incubation organizations, to support businesses in attracting investment and supporting startup ideas and projects with commercial potential in the district. At the same time, the district needs practical support policies for businesses to innovate technology, upgrade equipment and machinery, and restructure their production and business capabilities.
