The Bay Village Professional Farmers' Association was established in November 2022 with 15 member households. The association operates on the "5 Selfs" principle: Voluntariness, self-awareness, self-reliance, self-management, and self-responsibility; and the "5 Togethers" principle: Sharing the same field of labor, occupation, production, and business; sharing concerns; sharing experiences; sharing responsibility; and sharing benefits. Immediately after its establishment, the association received support in the form of 30 breeding sows, 750 kg of feed, and 150 doses of various vaccines, totaling 117 million VND from the Provincial Farmers' Association Fund. During the rearing process, the households received training in scientific and technical transfer. After more than two years of implementation, the pig herd has grown to over 1,200 pigs, with a total production of over 110 tons of commercial pork; after deducting expenses, each household earns a profit of 350 million VND per year.
To help farmer members develop production through linkages, in the coming time, the Bay Village Professional Farmers' Association will focus on disseminating information and encouraging farmer members to participate in training courses on scientific and technical transfer; transforming the structure of crops and livestock to create high-yield and high-quality products; and finding markets for members' products. Through this, the association will improve the quality of its activities and build a strong organization, contributing to the socio -economic development of the locality.
