Enjoy "robot pho" at the Hanoi Food Culture Festival.

(NLĐO) - The distinctive delicacies that have made Hanoi cuisine famous, especially pho, will be introduced to diners at the Hanoi Culinary Culture Festival.


With the theme " Hanoi Connecting Five Continents," the Hanoi Food and Culture Festival 2024 will take place from November 29th to December 1st at Thong Nhat Park with many diverse activities.

Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports , Do Dinh Hong, expressed his wish for Hanoi's cuisine to become more widely known.

Speaking at the press conference introducing the event on November 25th, Mr. Do Dinh Hong, Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, expressed that the agency always wants to bring traditional Hanoi cuisine, as well as contemporary Hanoi cuisine, to those who wish to enjoy it.

"We want to be a bridge connecting locals and tourists to products that are both traditional and popular in Hanoi. Whenever people visit, they can gain a deeper understanding of the capital's cuisine, from the past to the present and into the future. We always consider cuisine a unique art form containing a very high level of knowledge," said the Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports.

The highlight of the festival is the activities promoting and introducing Hanoi pho.

The Hanoi Food and Culture Festival 2024 brings together more than 80 booths from embassies of foreign countries in Vietnam, many typical traditional craft villages of Hanoi and other localities. The booths will operate continuously from 9 am to 10 pm each day, arranged and divided into areas: International cuisine; a space showcasing typical culinary culture of traditional craft villages; and demonstrations by artisans, product introductions, and culinary experiences combined with hands-on activities.

The area showcasing typical culinary culture of traditional craft villages and performances by artisans will recreate the atmosphere of traditional craft villages associated with typical culinary heritage of Hanoi such as: Hanoi pho, West Lake shrimp cakes, Phu Do vermicelli, Uoc Le pork sausage, Lang Vong sticky rice flakes, Me Tri sticky rice flakes, sticky rice, Phu Thuong sweet soup, Tranh Khuc sticky rice cake, Phung spring rolls, Quan Ganh sticky rice cake, Phu Nhi rice cake, Quang Phu Cau rice porridge, Ha Mo rice porridge, Lang So vermicelli...

This area also features demonstrations by artisans showcasing the local traditional cuisine.

The highlight of the festival is the activities promoting and showcasing the intangible cultural heritage of folk knowledge, "Hanoi Pho".

Hanoi pho is different from pho in other localities such as Nam Dinh.

"Within the framework of the Festival, activities will include announcing the decision to inscribe the folk knowledge of 'Hanoi Pho' into the national intangible cultural heritage list; creating a 'Hanoi Cuisine' section in the Kinh Te va Do Thi newspaper; and holding a seminar on 'Protecting and promoting the intangible cultural heritage of Hanoi Pho'..." - Mr. Do Dinh Hong said.

At the event, guests had the opportunity to experience traditional Hanoi pho and "Digital Pho," where intelligent robots meticulously prepared each bowl of pho, from cooking the broth to serving it at the table. These intelligent robots will replace humans in production and service tasks, creating a "Pho" culinary experience that can be introduced and shared more widely across the country.

Hanoi pho has a special appeal to food enthusiasts.

Speaking at a press conference alongside the Hanoi Food Culture Festival, Mr. Kajiwara Shinsuke, Deputy Director of Business at Acecook Vietnam, said that with a deep love for Vietnamese pho, the company is proud to contribute to promoting pho not only domestically but also internationally.

"This is the next step in our journey, together with the authorities, to promote Hanoi Pho and have it included in the list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity," Mr. Kajiwara Shinsuke affirmed.
