According to statistics of the People's Committee of Thuong Tin district, the district has about 1,500 enterprises, 2 large petroleum depots, 12 petroleum stores, and 76 liquefied petroleum gas stores.

In addition, in the district there are many craft villages producing flammable and explosive goods, such as: Blankets, sheets, pillows, mattresses in Tien Phong commune; wood processing in Van Diem commune; Duyen Thai lacquerware; Ninh So rattan and bamboo weaving and there are 3 large markets: Voi market, Tia market, Do Xa market, which are major trading places...

In the process of production and business activities, careless use of electricity is a potential factor for fire causing damage to people and property. Therefore, fire prevention and fighting is considered by the district as a top priority task to protect people and property of the State and people, creating a safe environment for units and enterprises to feel secure in production and business.

According to statistics from Thuong Tin district, from the beginning of 2025 to now, there have been 8 small fires in the district, a decrease of 2 cases compared to the same period last year. The main cause of the fires was carelessness in the use of electricity.

Vice Chairman of Thuong Tin District People's Committee Bui Cong Than said that to prevent fires at the grassroots level, Thuong Tin regularly pays attention to and directs the effective implementation of the mass movement for fire prevention and fighting, especially promoting the role of the civil defense force and grassroots fire prevention and fighting team. This force approaches the fire the fastest, easily deploys fire fighting plans, and limits damage to people and property when a fire occurs.

The district's fire prevention and fighting work has always been effective thanks to models that have been built and deployed over the years, such as: "Fire prevention and fighting inter-family safety group", "Public fire fighting point", "My house has a fire extinguisher model", fire prevention and fighting teams at agencies, units, enterprises, etc. These models have been promoting the role and responsibility of the community, participating in ensuring fire prevention and fighting safety and rescue at the grassroots level.

Lift high awareness

Thuong Tin determines that fire prevention and fighting work is carried out effectively when all people raise awareness of the importance and dangers of fire prevention and fighting.

Implementing Plan No. 358/KH-CAHN-PC07 dated December 13, 2024 of Hanoi City Police on the peak of inspection, handling of violations, ensuring fire prevention, fire fighting, rescue and salvage safety during the dry season and Lunar New Year 2025, Thuong Tin district's functional forces organized 35 propaganda sessions on fire prevention, fire fighting, rescue and salvage safety at the grassroots level with 2,580 participants.

The district organized 25 propaganda sessions on fire prevention, fire fighting, rescue and relief in residential areas with 4,050 participants; distributed 17,500 leaflets and documents on fire prevention and fire safety propaganda.

The district also organized the signing of commitments to ensure fire prevention and fighting safety for 230 establishments with potential fire and explosion hazards; 53,407 households and 1,768 households combining production and business; organized 20 fire prevention and fighting training courses for 202 establishments, 2,178 people; issued 2,178 training certificates; organized 5 rescue training courses for 39 establishments, issued 459 training certificates...

In addition, the joint force of Thuong Tin district regularly inspects and reminds hundreds of production facilities, business stores, markets, shopping centers, electronics stores, supermarkets, religious establishments, etc. Thereby, 80 production facilities; 12 warehouses, goods; 1 department store, convenience store... violated the Law on Fire Prevention and Fighting and issued decisions to impose administrative fines with a total amount of nearly 154 million VND.

Chairman of Thuong Tin District People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Minh emphasized that to ensure fire and explosion safety when preparing to enter the hot season, the district's functional forces coordinate with communes and towns to strengthen propaganda work, disseminate laws, knowledge and skills on fire prevention, fire fighting and rescue to all classes of people and workers; mobilize each household to have at least 1 person participate in propaganda and training classes on fire prevention, fire fighting and rescue; be equipped with fire extinguishers and tools and means for demolition and escape.

The district also effectively implemented safety models for fire prevention, fire fighting, and rescue, with the motto "4 on-site", especially for facilities in industrial parks, clusters, craft villages and types of housing combined with production and business, etc., to minimize the number of fires and explosions, ensure security and order, and develop the economy and society in the area.
