Continue reviewing and reorganizing administrative units.

(QBĐT) - On the morning of March 26, the Steering Committee for the rearrangement and reorganization of district and commune-level administrative units in Quang Binh province held its second meeting to implement several key tasks in the coming period.

Comrade Le Ngoc Quang, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Head of the Steering Committee, chaired the meeting. Attending were Comrade Tran Hai Chau, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, and Deputy Head of the Steering Committee; Tran Phong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and Standing Deputy Head of the Steering Committee; members of the Steering Committee; and representatives from relevant departments, agencies, and units.

Comrade Le Ngoc Quang, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, delivered a speech at the meeting.

At the meeting, the Steering Committee for the reorganization of district and commune-level administrative units in Quang Binh province requested that districts, towns, and cities continue to research and develop plans for reorganizing commune-level administrative units in their areas. In particular, they emphasized the need for thorough and careful consideration of traditional, historical, and cultural factors regarding the names and headquarters of the new administrative units.

The name of the new administrative unit should be easily recognizable, concise, easy to read, easy to remember, and should highlight the advantages of the locality, be in line with the trend of integration, and create consensus among the people. The Steering Committee also reminded localities about identifying the administrative and political center of the new commune after the reorganization.

The selection of the administrative-political center for the new administrative unit must have a favorable geographical location, a synchronized socio -economic infrastructure, especially a developed transportation system, easy connectivity with areas within the province, major cities, economic centers, or the maritime space; it must be consistent with the socio-economic development orientation of the new administrative unit, ensuring harmony and rationality, avoiding imbalances between administrative units after merger, and ensuring national defense and security. The new administrative center must ensure that it quickly becomes operational and stable after the reorganization.

The responsibility of local Party committees and authorities is to unify understanding and create consensus among all segments of the local population; to grasp the thoughts and aspirations of the people; and to contribute to preserving and promoting the historical, traditional, cultural values and the spirit of solidarity of the people in the newly reorganized administrative unit.

Provincial Party Secretary Le Ngoc Quang noted that localities need to closely adhere to the conclusions, policies, and orientations of the Politburo, the Secretariat, the Government, and the Provincial Party Standing Committee, specifically identifying the work contents, deadlines, completion progress, and responsibilities of provincial and local agencies to ensure timely, synchronized, unified, high-quality, and effective implementation.

Alongside the implementation of the task of reorganizing commune-level administrative units, localities continue to strengthen propaganda efforts to create unity in awareness and action among officials, civil servants, and employees in agencies and organizations within the political system; and to create consensus among the people and public opinion on the policy of reorganizing administrative units at all levels and the organization of local governments at two levels in Quang Binh province.
