The actress said: "My perspective on things is different from before; practicing Buddhism makes me feel truly happy." Outsiders think Tran Ngoc Lien lives a reclusive life, shunning the world, but she says she lives in harmony with others, often meeting close friends and family, only rarely posting photos on social media.

According to sources, Tran Ngoc Lien lives alone and devotes herself to charitable projects. She subsidizes the living expenses and education of several orphans in mainland China.
