The forum was held in person and online with the participation of 18 provinces and cities of Vietnam, 4 provinces of Southern Laos (Champasak, Sekong, Salavane, Attapeu) and Ubon Ratchathani province (Thailand).

The forum is an opportunity for localities, investors and businesses to meet, exchange and introduce their potential, strengths, preferential policies to attract investment, and propose cooperation contents in the fields of trade and tourism. At the same time, it organizes discussions and agrees on directions and solutions to improve the effectiveness of cooperation, promote tourism, trade and investment promotion activities on the East-West economic corridor. In the context of increasingly deep integration, the close connection and cooperation between localities in the region not only helps to promote the potential and strengths of each region but also contributes to strengthening solidarity and friendship among peoples, promoting the common development of the Greater Mekong Sub-region.
Participating in the forum, representatives of provinces and cities of Vietnam, Laos and Thailand, along with representatives of Vietnamese enterprises, presented papers on solutions to enhance infrastructure connectivity, promote trade, investment and tourism between localities in the East-West economic corridor. The papers also analyzed opportunities in developing key economic sectors, and introduced a number of potential projects in the East-West economic corridor.
In addition to the forum, the Vietnam - Laos Trade and Tourism Fair 2025 will take place from May 21 to 23, 2025 at the Sekong Provincial Trade Center. This is an opportunity for businesses to promote and introduce cultural and tourism products; local OCOP agricultural products, including: agricultural products, processed foods, garments - fashion, electricity - electronics, household appliances, machinery and equipment for agricultural production, wooden furniture and handicrafts, consumer goods, tourism services, etc.
