Many problems in market development and management in the west of Hai Phong city

While many traditional markets are in disrepair, some newly invested and spacious markets in the west of Hai Phong city have not been exploited effectively.

Comrade Nguyen Trong Tue, Head of the Economic - Budget Committee and Comrade Pham Van Khanh, Head of the Urban Committee of the Hai Phong City People's Council, and the monitoring delegation conducted a survey at the new Tram Bong market (Truong Tan commune).

On October 3, the supervision delegation of the Economic - Budget Committee of the Hai Phong City People's Council, led by Mr. Nguyen Trong Tue, Head of the Economic - Budget Committee, supervised the development and management of markets in the city in some western communes and wards.

The monitoring delegation worked with Gia Phuc and Truong Tan communes at Gia Phuc commune headquarters on market management and development.

The survey team visited Tram Bong market (Truong Tan commune) and Dong Tai market (Gia Phuc commune). In the afternoon of the same day, the survey team visited Thach Khoi market (Thach Khoi ward) and Phu Yen market (Le Thanh Nghi ward).

After the survey, the monitoring team worked with communes and wards on market development and management.

Comrade Nguyen Trong Tue chaired the meeting with Le Thanh Nghi and Thach Khoi wards, requesting specialized agencies, local authorities and businesses to closely coordinate in removing obstacles related to market development and management.

Monitoring shows that the market network is basically operating stably; market management, planning and development are of interest to local authorities.

However, the practical operation of some markets is still problematic, especially the management model is not suitable to the reality, not fully utilizing resources to become the driving force for local socio-economic development. Market planning and development work is still limited. Traditional markets have existed for a long time, not ensuring conditions of food hygiene and safety, environment...

Comrade Pham Van Khanh, Head of the Urban Committee of Hai Phong City People's Council, spoke at the working session in Le Thanh Nghi ward.

Some new markets have been built spaciously and modernly but have not attracted many small traders to do business and trade and have not exploited their efficiency and potential to the fullest (Phu Yen market, Hui market). New commune-level government officials do not have much experience in state management of market operations.

Representatives of localities, businesses and cooperatives involved in market management reflected on difficulties and proposed and recommended solutions.

Receiving opinions reflecting difficulties and obstacles in the practical management of local markets, comrade Nguyen Trong Tue requested departments, branches and specialized agencies to actively participate and support the authorities of communes and wards in the development and management of markets. Local authorities are determined to remove difficulties for enterprises and cooperatives when participating in market management to effectively exploit resources and avoid waste.

Leaders of the Department of Industry and Trade answered some opinions related to market development and management.

Comrade Nguyen Trong Tue emphasized that market development must be closely linked to planning work in accordance with standards and regulations. Market development and management is an important and practical task that directly serves the lives of people in the city.

A representative of Quang Giap Group Company Limited, the management unit of Thach Khoi market, said that the operation and management of Thach Khoi market (Hui market) is currently facing many difficulties.

The Economic - Budget Committee will submit to the City People's Council for consideration a report on the results of thematic supervision on this content at the regular year-end meeting.
