Searching for 'cultural ambassadors' to help Lai Chau reach new heights.

On the morning of June 2nd, the Organizing Committee of the competition for literary and artistic works about Lai Chau held a launching ceremony for the competition with the theme "Lai Chau - A source of culture, potential, and driving force for development".

The ceremony was held in a hybrid format, combining in-person and online participation from the provincial headquarters to 36 communes in the area, and was also livestreamed on the digital platforms of Lai Chau Provincial Newspaper, Radio, and Television.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Tuan Anh affirmed that literature and art have a special power in preserving memories, arousing love for the homeland, and spreading the image of a region through emotional depth. At the same time, the Organizing Committee, the Judging Panel, and relevant agencies should uphold their responsibility, ensuring objective and impartial judging; and promote the quality works after the competition. Each work should become a "cultural ambassador," contributing to bringing the image of Lai Chau closer to friends at home and abroad, effectively serving the local cultural and tourism promotion and investment attraction efforts.

This is also a practical forum for literary and artistic creation, aiming to create an open space to attract a large number of artists, intellectuals, journalists, officials, Party members, and people inside and outside the province to participate in creative work. Through this, it contributes to inspiring exploration and spreading love for the land, people, cultural identity, potential, and aspirations for development of Lai Chau in the new era.

According to the rules, entries must be written in Vietnamese and belong to two genres: short stories and essays (including memoirs, essays, and literary reportage). Works must be original creations, never before published in newspapers, publications, or digital platforms. Content should adhere to the competition theme, reflecting the close relationship between nature, local products, and the lives of the people of Lai Chau; while also highlighting the distinctive products, potential, development advantages, and unique cultural identity of the ethnic groups in the province.

Participants include Vietnamese citizens, Vietnamese people living abroad, and foreigners residing, studying, or working in Vietnam who are capable of writing literature in Vietnamese. The deadline for submissions is September 15, 2026; the awards ceremony is tentatively scheduled for October 2026.
