President Putin, who recently concluded a two-day visit to China, confirmed to Chinese President Xi Jinping that he will attend the APEC summit in Shenzhen on November 18-19. Meanwhile, President Trump is also reportedly planning to attend the event.
"If both leaders are in China, they might meet and hold some kind of exchange," Ushakov said.
If it takes place, this would be the next meeting between the two leaders after the summit in Alaska in August 2025 – the first face-to-face meeting between Russian and American leaders since the Ukraine conflict escalated.
Trump and the Israeli Prime Minister had a tense phone call about Iran.
On May 19, US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had a phone call described as tense, concerning the possibility of ending the conflict with Iran.

Sources indicate that the Israeli Prime Minister hopes to resume military operations to further weaken Iran's military capabilities and put pressure on the Tehran regime.
Meanwhile, Trump continued to assert that there was still a chance for a diplomatic solution, but warned that Washington was ready to redeploy military action if Iran did not make concessions in negotiations.
"I want to stop a war if that can save lives," Trump said on May 20.
Putin's visit to China yielded a series of important results.
Russian President Vladimir Putin concluded his two-day state visit to China with a series of important cooperation agreements signed between the two countries.
During their nearly three-hour meeting at the Great Hall of the People, Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping focused their discussions on areas ranging from trade and energy to international security.
Putin stated that bilateral trade exceeded $240 billion last year, and affirmed that energy continues to be a key driver of Russia-China cooperation.
According to the Kremlin, the two sides reached an agreement on the key parameters of the Power of Siberia 2 gas pipeline project.
Over 40 intergovernmental and business agreements have been signed in the fields of energy, transportation, nuclear technology, artificial intelligence, education, and media.
The two leaders also reaffirmed their stance against hegemony and the "law of the jungle" in international relations and emphasized the need to address the root causes of the Ukraine conflict.

The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on May 20 that soldiers from the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit had landed on the Iranian-flagged oil tanker Celestial Sea in the Gulf of Oman.
According to CENTCOM, the ship is suspected of attempting to enter an Iranian port, violating the maritime blockade imposed by the United States.

The released video shows U.S. soldiers deploying by helicopter before approaching and searching the vessel. After the inspection, the vehicle was allowed to leave after being instructed to change course.
This is the fifth ship that has been subjected to a landing inspection by the US since Washington launched its blockade campaign against Iran in the Gulf of Oman and the Strait of Hormuz.
CENTCOM said the blockade campaign has forced at least 91 commercial ships to change their routes.
