Thai Thi Thao was born on February 12, 1995 in Nghe An, in a family with no sports tradition.

Midfielder Thai Thi Thao started out as a futsal player playing for small and semi-professional clubs. Thanks to her impressive performances for these teams, in 2010, Thao was called up to train with Hanoi Club.

With her efforts in both physical and professional training, Thao has gradually become an important factor in Hanoi's playing style since officially joining the first team in 2014.

Although she is an outstanding player in the midfield of Hanoi, Thai Thi Thao has not yet had a chance to play for the national team. It was not until 2018 that the female player born in 1995 wore the national team shirt.

At the AFF Cup 2019, Thao was trusted by coach Mai Duc Chung to play the central midfielder position. This player from Nghe An province played his role very well and even scored two goals.

In 2022, Thao tore her cruciate ligament in her knee during a training session in Quang Ninh. The injury forced Thai Thi Thao to miss the 31st SEA Games at home. Fortunately, Thao's injury treatment went smoothly. She returned to the Vietnamese women's team to participate in the 32nd SEA Games.
