Although the water flow in the eastern part of Lam Dong province has begun to recede, some areas are still deeply flooded; in which, the residential areas along both sides of National Highway 1A, Thang Thuan quarter is the most heavily flooded area.
Local authorities, functional agencies and volunteer organizations in the province are making efforts to provide emergency support and supply essential goods to people.

Faced with that situation, the "Giving is Forever" Volunteer Group coordinated with local authorities to continuously take turns receiving, unloading and using trucks and dump trucks to transport hundreds of meals, drinks and food to the people here.
Each hot meal or porridge delivered to the people is a heart given. Accompanying the group are more than 10 young people in the area who volunteered to use their vehicles and participate in distributing rice and supplies.

Mr. Vu Ngoc Hai, Ham Thang ward, has two dump trucks - the family's means of livelihood, which have been used as emergency relief vehicles for people in flooded areas.
Sometimes he drives vehicles, sometimes he drives people, regularly delivering rice to the people three times a day. Not only during this flood but also during the flood in October, he was there, helping people.

Mr. Hai shared: "With the floodwaters like this, no vehicle can get in, so I decided to roll up my sleeves to help people."

That said, when on the rice delivery truck, passing by Mr. Hai's house, he saw that his and his wife's house was also deeply flooded. "The house is still flooded, but compared to many people, I am still safe. My wife and children are at home cleaning up. As for me, I go out to help people, whatever I can do, I help," Mr. Hai said.

While delivering food to the people, the weather was not favorable, but when stopping the car to knock on each house's door, Mr. Hai's face always lit up with joy.
The roads leading to residential areas were mostly flooded, the water was still flowing rapidly, many places were flooded more than 1.5m. Since December 4, floodwaters have been flowing in, causing deep flooding in low-lying areas. Many houses in groups 8, 9, 10 and Thang Thuan neighborhood were cut off. With floodwaters all around, kitchens were deeply submerged, making cooking almost impossible, many families fell into poverty.

Ms. Ha Thi Thu Thuy, a member of the "Giving is Forever" Volunteer Group, said: In the past 2 days, seeing people being isolated, the Group has called on philanthropists to join together to supply food and support people in flooded areas. The food rations are sometimes sticky rice, bread, sometimes rice, fried noodles, with the desire to ensure nutrition and health for people, to overcome difficulties.

“When the water rose, Mr. Hai volunteered to help without a single question, enthusiastically and happily,” said Ms. Thuy.
Faced with the difficulties of the people, the People's Committee of Ham Thang ward mobilized many socio -political organizations, unions and volunteer groups to organize activities towards the flood areas, especially providing food, drinking water and thousands of meals every day.

Over the past few days, more than 10,000 meals and drinks have been provided to people in the area who had to evacuate. In particular, on December 5, organizations and philanthropists continued to support and ensure the provision of food and drinks 3 times a day with a quantity of over 7,500 meals/time.

Ham Thang Ward People's Committee has organized the evacuation of more than 1,550 households with 2,500 people in the neighborhoods of Kim Binh, Kim Ngoc, Phu Thanh, Phu Thinh, Thang Hiep, and Phu Hoa from areas at risk of deep flooding and fast-flowing water.
Authorities are continuing to help people get to safety. Here, the government has provided essential supplies to help people temporarily stabilize while waiting for the water to recede.

At the Ham Thang Ward Party Committee headquarters, the trucks were bustling. Convoys of trucks delivering goods to and transporting goods to affected areas kept coming one after another.

According to the People's Committee of Ham Thang Ward, due to the impact of prolonged heavy rain in the upstream communes, combined with flooding at Song Quao Lake, the rising water level in Ham Thang Ward is causing flooding in the Song Lap area, Group 1, Kim Binh Quarter.
Field kitchen

In Ham Thuan Bac commune, this afternoon, the flood water gradually receded but everything was still in disarray, mud covered the yard, furniture was damaged, people were busy cleaning their houses.
To support the people, the Volunteer Group led by Mr. Nguyen Hoang Nghi (Ham Thuan commune) mobilized benefactors and philanthropists to organize a kitchen, cook rice and distribute it for free to the people.

Many women in the area joined the group. Some picked vegetables, some cooked rice, some washed vegetables, tubers, and fruits. The atmosphere was very tense but bustling, filled with warm laughter.

Similarly, the Kitchen was built by the Buddhist Volunteer Group Dieu Hanh Le (formerly Binh Phuoc province) with love. With nearly 1.2 tons of rice, nearly 2.8 tons of vegetables, fruits, meat and 4,000 eggs, this "field" Kitchen is expected to cook about 5,000 meals for the people of Ham Thang and neighboring areas.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Trang, a member of the volunteer group, said: Philanthropists and benefactors in the former Binh Phuoc province (now Dong Nai province) joined hands. Everyone contributed whatever they had, from rice, vegetables, meat, etc. to bring here to organize cooking to support the people with the desire to share some of the difficulties of the people here.

Amidst the chaos of reconstruction, the "field" kitchens have given flood victims the strength to confidently overcome many difficulties and soon stabilize their lives.
According to the People's Committee of Ham Thang Ward, currently 18/19 neighborhoods are flooded. Nearly 7,000/12,797 houses are flooded (under 0.5m); 3 temporary houses and 3 houses are damaged.
