
Accordingly, the competition is open to professional and amateur musicians and artists who are Vietnamese citizens, regardless of age or profession. Members of the Organizing Committee, the Judging Panel, and the Secretariat are not eligible to participate.
The Songwriting Contest on the theme of ethnic minorities focuses on themes praising the Party, President Ho Chi Minh, mountainous homelands, the revolutionary traditions of ethnic groups in the history of nation-building and national defense, national heroes and prominent figures; changes in mountainous rural areas in building new rural life, advanced models in labor and production, examples of good people and good deeds; criticizing bad habits and vices, eliminating backward customs and social evils.
The content of the work reflects the beautiful traditional cultural values, praising solidarity, achievements, and innovations in the lives of ethnic minorities and mountainous regions, encouraging creativity on the materials and melodies of ethnic minority folk songs. It aims to bring musical works to life and spread widely among people in mountainous and ethnic minority areas.
Type of composition: Song. Each submitted song must include both the musical score (written as musical notation) and the lyrics in Vietnamese, clearly typed or handwritten on A4 paper, clearly stating the author of the lyrics and the composer (authors are encouraged to submit a recording of the song in wav, mp3, or CD format). The lyrics must be in clear and concise Vietnamese (if in an ethnic language, a Vietnamese translation must be included).
Prize structure
The awards include certificates from the Organizing Committee, along with cash prizes for the winning authors. The works may be used by the Organizing Committee for promotional activities in any form deemed appropriate. Specifically: 2 First Prizes (Northern and Southern regions), 2 Second Prizes, 2 Third Prizes, 8 Consolation Prizes, and 5 Extended Prizes.
Number of entries: Each author may submit a maximum of 3 works (songs). The 2024 Songwriting Contest on Ethnic Minority Themes is open to both professional and amateur authors and is not for commercial purposes.
