'Ethnic minority women's groups' - a pillar of support helping Thai ethnic minority women rise out of poverty.

Over the years, Tay Ninh province has been doing a good job of caring for women from ethnic minority communities. A prime example is the establishment of several club models to help women improve their access to information, enhance their knowledge, and rise out of poverty.

This is also the spirit of Project 8: Implementing gender equality and addressing urgent issues for women and children under the National Target Program for socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas. For example, to diversify mobilization methods and to raise awareness among Thai ethnic women, encouraging their active participation in implementing the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws, in 2023, Long Phuoc commune established the "Ethnic Minority Women's Group". After more than a year of operation, the Group has helped 17 Thai ethnic women members to improve their livelihoods, escape poverty, and enhance their legal awareness.

Besides supporting each other in economic development, during in-person meetings or through Zalo groups, the Women's Union of Long Phuoc commune also connects with judicial officers and commune police to disseminate and educate women in the group on relevant laws such as: the Law on Marriage and Family; the situation of drug-related crimes, their manifestations and prevention measures; child abuse; drowning, domestic violence, school violence and prevention measures…
