According to the latest data from the i-Speed platform of the Vietnam Internet Center (Ministry of Science and Technology), the network quality of telecommunications service providers in Vietnam improved in April 2025. Notably, the quality of 5G mobile networks in the past month recorded the strongest improvement since statistics began in October 2024.
5G network speed sets new record
The latest statistics on 5G mobile broadband networks in April 2025 show that the average nationwide download speed reached 354.88 Mbps while the upload speed reached 94.92 Mbps. Compared to the previous month, the 5G network speed was half as fast, showing a clear improvement trend of the new generation network infrastructure.

Viettel continues to affirm its leading position in the 5G market with a download speed of 364.43 Mbps and an upload speed of 97.6 Mbps. This is also the highest 5G speed of this network since statistics were recorded. In second place, MobiFone recorded a download speed of 162.82 Mbps and an upload speed of 39.5 Mbps. VNPT ranked third with a download speed of 158.68 Mbps and an upload speed of 47.94 Mbps.

In terms of geographical area, Da Nang leads the country in 5G network quality with an average network speed of 393.84 Mbps. Major cities such as Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho, Hai Phong and Hanoi also maintain stable network quality with download speeds of 293.36 Mbps, 271.34 Mbps, 246.03 and 156.73 Mbps, respectively.

According to the latest data from the Vietnam Internet Network Information Center, the average download speed of mobile broadband networks nationwide reached 77.19 Mbps, while the average upload speed was 27.37 Mbps. This is also the highest speed of mobile broadband networks in Vietnam in the last 12 months.

The impressive growth in mobile network quality over the past month was mainly due to the consistent improvement of telecommunications networks. Notably, Viettel and MobiFone both recorded the highest network quality since April 2024.
Viettel took the lead with a mobile broadband download speed of 88.97 Mbps, a sharp increase compared to 68.94 Mbps in March 2025, and an upload speed of 27.98 Mbps. VNPT ranked right behind with a download and upload speed of 65.02 Mbps and 27.88 Mbps, respectively.
Meanwhile, MobiFone recorded a download speed of 54.07 Mbps and an upload speed of 23.62 Mbps. Vietnamobile had a download speed of 9.98 Mbps and an upload speed of only 4.82 Mbps.
Regarding the index measuring mobile broadband network speed in provinces and cities, considering only 5 major cities, Da Nang continues to maintain its leading position with an average mobile broadband network speed of 272.97 Mbps. Notably, the network quality in Da Nang recorded a sudden increase, doubling compared to March 2025.
For the remaining localities, most of them showed a clear improvement in network quality. However, Hanoi saw a slight decrease in mobile network speed last month.

VNPT fixed broadband network speed nearly doubled
Fixed broadband speeds continued to recover in April after a sharp decline in February 2025. Specifically, the average download speed reached 143.01 Mbps, an increase of about one-third compared to March 2025. Upload speeds also recorded a slight improvement, reaching 112.55 Mbps.

Statistics on the measurement results of fixed broadband network speeds of network operators and rankings of telecommunications service providers in April 2025 show that VNPT has rapidly risen to the top in terms of fixed Internet network quality in Vietnam.
Specifically, VNPT's fixed broadband network download speed reached 193.47 Mbps, nearly double the 108.74 Mbps of March 2025, while the upload speed reached 144.26 Mbps.

Coming in second place is CMC Telecom with a download speed of 135.29 Mbps and an upload speed of 133.38 Mbps. Viettel maintained its third place in terms of fixed broadband network quality with a download speed of 132.3 Mbps and an upload speed of 108.88 Mbps, unchanged from the previous month. Following behind is FPT Telecom with a download speed of 103.36 Mbps and an upload speed of 98.79 Mbps. SCTV recorded speeds of 78.71 Mbps for download and 28.53 Mbps for upload, respectively. NETNAM had a download speed of 63.89 Mbps and an upload speed of 74.68 Mbps.

Regarding fixed broadband network speed in major provinces and cities across the country, Hai Phong continuously 'broke through' with a download speed of up to 277.45 Mbps, followed by Hanoi, Can Tho, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang./.
