On November 11th, Hanoi held a ceremony to honor outstanding individuals and exemplary teachers who have dedicated themselves to the teaching profession, in celebration of November 20th - Vietnamese Teachers' Day. Also on this occasion, 11 collectives and 44 teachers and staff members received commendations from the Prime Minister .

Always remind yourself why you started.

At the ceremony, teacher Nguyen Van Hoa shared that with 32 years of experience in education , he has always had a heartfelt desire to build a school where students can come to school every day without fear, receive love, and feel joy and happiness.

Teacher Hoa is one of the leading educators in building "happy schools," focusing on various activities to allow students to experience, hone their skills, form core values, and build a friendly and open school environment.

As a returning soldier with nearly 40 years dedicated to education, including 32 years building the school, Mr. Hoa shared that there were many difficulties, but whenever faced with obstacles, he always reminded himself why he started: because of his passion to contribute, because of education, and because of future generations of students.

"As long as that passionate heart remains, it will find its way. And I love teaching," said Mr. Hoa.

Also at the ceremony, another heartfelt sharing from Ms. Cao Thi Thu Hien moved many people. Ms. Hien is a teacher at Phuong Mai Kindergarten, and has been dedicated to the profession for 25 years.

Having suffered from a terminal illness herself, she was devastated when the doctor informed her of her condition and thought her life was about to end.

"I thought about my son who needed me to be strong, and about the children I was caring for. At that moment, my love for my profession shone brighter than ever."

I had two choices: stop or keep going. And I chose to keep going. There was a period when I had to overcome the pain caused by my illness to do the daily tasks of a preschool teacher, preparing lesson plans and designing new lessons.

"Witnessing the daily changes and growth of the children gave me the strength to overcome my serious illness. I realized that when you live fully with what you love, any difficulty can be overcome. As long as there is love in your heart, you will find the light," Ms. Hien recalled.
