Dare to try, dare to make mistakes to grow.
These four top students achieved success not from perfect beginnings, but from choosing to try, to make mistakes, and not to give up halfway. Despite their different experiences, they all share one thing in common: learning is not a sprint, but a long journey that requires courage and perseverance.
Sharing her thoughts on her academic journey, Ha Bao Tran, a student in class 12A6, believes that studying requires not only effort but also courage.
Ha Bao Tran achieved an 8.0 IELTS score and was an excellent student for 12 consecutive years. She is skilled at playing guitar and Rubik's Cube, and also manages the school's football club and is a member of numerous volunteer projects.
"Learning requires courage, especially when it comes to making choices about whether or not to try. But learning is a long journey, so just try. Whether right or wrong, successful or not, at least you've experienced it and learned a lesson. Instead of giving up, be brave enough to pursue the goals you set for yourself," Tran expressed.
According to the students, an international educational environment not only opens up many career opportunities but also helps to develop multicultural thinking and flexible adaptability – important skills in the context of global integration.
Expressing her personal aspirations, Nguyen Kieu Anh, a student in class 12A1 , said she hopes to succeed in her chosen field and contribute value to the community.
Student Nguyen Kieu Anh also achieved an IELTS score of 8.0.
"My immediate wish is to use my personal learning story to support and inspire other students, from exam preparation strategies to effective self-study methods. Beyond that, I want to become a source of inspiration like my older brother – who has given me so much motivation and recently received a scholarship to study in Japan," Kiều Anh said.
The spirit of conquest and ambition
Recalling his preparation journey, Pham The Tuan, a student in class 12A1, said he started studying for the SAT in October 2024. By March 2025, Tuan had reached 1500 points, but after that, his score did not improve, remaining "stuck" in the 1500–1550 range.
Pham The Tuan achieved an IELTS score of 7.5 (including an 8.5 in Reading), and won a Gold Medal in the Vioedu Math competition at the city level for 8th graders. The male student was also accepted into the English specialized program at both the Foreign Language Specialized High School and the University of Education Specialized High School; and the Math specialized program at Nguyen Hue Specialized High School.
"There were times I thought about giving up. But thanks to the encouragement of my family and friends, I decided to try harder. I learned from those who scored higher, solving problems while simultaneously analyzing my mistakes to make adjustments. In the end, I achieved the score I wanted," Tuan shared.
After achieving impressive SAT scores, each student had clear plans for the future. Pham The Tuan, Ha Bao Tran, and Nguyen Kieu Anh all aspire to apply to universities in the US, UK, or Europe, studying subjects such as economics , data science, international relations, or global communication.
Meanwhile, Nguyen Minh Thu, a student in class 12A3 , started preparing for the SAT later, around September 2025. She focused on strengthening her vocabulary and practicing with many sample tests to improve her reflexes.
Nguyen Minh Thu won first prize in the Hoan Kiem district's English competition for gifted students in the 2022-2023 school year, third prize in the city-level English competition for gifted students in the same year, and a bronze medal in the HIPPO competition in 2021. She was admitted to the specialized English program at three prestigious high schools: Hanoi Foreign Language Specialized High School, Hanoi University of Education Specialized High School, and Chu Van An Specialized High School.
"The final preparation period was quite short and stressful, but my parents always encouraged me. My family was both a source of emotional support and a great source of inspiration. During the revision process, I also often asked my parents for advice to guide my studies," Thu said.
A common point emphasized by the students was the acceptance of mistakes as an inevitable part of the progress process. Tests that didn't meet expectations weren't seen as failures, but rather as data to adjust their learning methods.
"For me, there are no 'failures' in learning, only lessons and experiences. Everything that doesn't go as planned is a challenge to overcome in order to get closer to success," Nguyen Kieu Anh further shared.

The four students who achieved perfect SAT scores are from the High School for Foreign Languages, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
Furthermore, proactive learning is considered a key factor. When encountering unfamiliar content, students actively seek out various sources of information, discuss with friends or teachers, instead of relying on a fixed learning path. Continuously asking "why" helps them understand the essence of the problem, especially with content requiring high-level logical thinking.
Commenting on this result, Do Thi Ngoc Chi , Vice Principal of the High School for Foreign Languages , Vietnam National University, Hanoi, said that this is an outstanding achievement, surpassing previous years.
According to Ms. Ngoc Chi, not only the school's leaders but also all the teachers are happy and proud of the students' achievements. "This is not an achievement that comes from chance, but the result of a serious learning process, clear direction, and persistent efforts from the students," she emphasized.
The school's vice principal said that every year the school has students achieving perfect SAT scores, but this year is a special milestone as, even before the end of the first semester, four students have already achieved a perfect score of 1600/1600.
"This shows that when students have clear goals, a serious learning attitude, and a desire for international integration, they can absolutely reach the high academic standards of the world," Ms. Ngoc Chi shared.
According to the school's Vice Principal, this achievement is the result of a combination of factors: students learning in a suitable educational environment, active support from parents, the dedication of the teaching staff, and especially the trust placed in them to proactively strive and develop their individual abilities.
Ms. Ngoc Chi believes that, along with the impressive achievements of students in many other fields, this year's SAT results will be a driving force for the school to continue to steadfastly adhere to its educational philosophy: training students to become global citizens, strong in foreign languages, solid in cultural subjects, and possessing strong character and social responsibility.
