On the morning of April 15th, the second day of his state visit to Vietnam, General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping dedicated his first activity to commemorating President Ho Chi Minh - the great and outstanding leader of the Vietnamese nation.

During their lifetimes, President Ho Chi Minh and Chairman Mao Zedong of China were the ones who tirelessly and directly nurtured the "close relationship between Vietnam and China, as comrades and brothers."

To demonstrate the special and close relationship between the two countries, at approximately 10:00 AM, General Secretary To Lam and General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping jointly led their delegations to lay wreaths and pay respects at the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. This was unprecedented during Xi Jinping's previous visits to Vietnam in 2015, 2017, and 2023.

He is expected to meet with President Luong Cuong afterwards.

The Chinese leader will also participate in other activities related to cultural exchanges, which are both in line with the Vietnam-China Friendship Cultural Exchange Year 2025 and reflect the increasingly close cultural exchanges between the two countries and the growing closeness between their peoples in recent years.

Regarding the visit, the April 15th issue of China's People's Daily dedicated its entire front page, page 5, most of page 2, and part of page 3 to prominently reporting on the activities during General Secretary and President Xi Jinping's visit to Vietnam.

This is a remarkable and rare occurrence for a newspaper with one of the world's largest circulations, serving as the official mouthpiece of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.

Notably, page 5 of the April 15th issue of the People's Daily is a special page titled "Passing on the Sino-Vietnamese Friendship to Future Generations," featuring many stories about the friendship between the people of the two countries, cultural exchange events, and practical and effective cooperation projects between China and Vietnam.

Xinhua News Agency's website also provided a full account of the activities during the visit, and featured many stories about cooperation and exchanges between the people of the two countries in the fields of music, culture and arts, education, and more.

Particularly noteworthy is the special photo collection titled "Recording 75 Years of China-Vietnam Cultural Exchange," featuring many valuable photographs from the 1950s to the present day, documenting the exchange, cooperation, and interaction between the people of the two countries.

Yesterday, April 14th, was a busy day for the Chinese leader. After attending a grand state welcoming ceremony at the Presidential Palace, Xi Jinping and General Secretary Su Lin held high-level talks, discussing in depth ways to further promote the development of relations in the future.

The Chinese leader also met with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man on the same day. 45 documents were signed and presented to General Secretary To Lam and General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping on the first day of the visit.
