Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang, member of the Party Central Committee and Commander of Military Region 7, presented a report on the results of military and defense tasks at the meeting.

Presenting a report at the working session, Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang said that over the years, the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and the Military Region 7 Command have always thoroughly grasped the resolutions and directives of the Party, the State, the Central Military Commission, and the Ministry of National Defense, especially the resolution on the Strategy for Homeland Protection in the new situation. Proactively grasping, assessing, and correctly forecasting the situation, advising and closely coordinating with functional forces to promptly and effectively handle situations, avoiding being passive or surprised, contributing to maintaining political stability and social order and safety in the area, creating favorable conditions and environment for localities to develop socio-economy. The overall quality, strength, level, and combat readiness of the Military Region's Armed Forces have been increasingly improved, meeting the requirements of the task of protecting the Fatherland in the new situation. Focusing on building a comprehensively strong unit that is "exemplary and typical", taking political construction as the basis. Regularly organize training for officers and soldiers in the entire Military Region according to the motto "basic, practical, solid"; strengthen practical training close to combat reality, close to the target and task; always ensure "3 ready", "4 on-site" in combat readiness.

In particular, many innovative and strategic policies, models and projects have been implemented, which have been approved and supported by local Party committees, authorities and people, becoming bright spots for the entire army and the entire country, such as the projects "Building permanent militia posts on land borders"; "Building residential areas adjacent to militia posts, border posts and stations"; building a strong and comprehensive local armed force right from the grassroots level; friendly connection, support and assistance for ethnic minorities and religious people; units and localities behind supporting units and localities in front; the "3 best" unit model; "5 good Party cells, 5 good Party members"; "Cadres and Party members guiding the masses and subordinates"; "5 proactiveness in ideological work"... Along with that, Military Region 7 has invested more than 3,000 billion VND to build and solidify 63 permanent militia posts; built 58 points with 722 houses, 2 kindergartens in residential areas adjacent to border militia posts; supported 50 billion VND to build a multi-purpose Cultural House on Thuyen Chai C Island, Truong Sa archipelago. In 2024, Military Region 7 built 511 "Great Solidarity Houses"; 30 cultural and sports facilities in religious establishments and ethnic minority areas. On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory, Military Region 7 built and donated 01 "Community Cultural House"; 80 "Comrade Houses", "Houses of Military-Civilian Gratitude" in Dien Bien province; and mobilized more than 29 billion VND to help people affected by storm No. 3.

Appreciating the achievements of the Armed Forces of Military Region 7, General Secretary To Lam emphasized that over the past time, Military Region 7 has always thoroughly grasped the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, and the directives and resolutions of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense on military, national defense and homeland protection tasks; proactively grasped the situation of borders, islands, inland and foreign countries; advised the Party, the State, the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense to promptly handle situations, maintain a peaceful and stable environment, and create favorable conditions for localities to develop their socio-economy.
