A report from Counterpoint Research has just revealed the world's 10 best-selling smartphone models in the fourth quarter of 2024, notably the iPhone 16 is absent from this list.
Leading the list of 10 best-selling smartphone models in the world in the fourth quarter of 2024 is the standard iPhone 15, accounting for 3% of the total global smartphone market share, followed by two more premium models: iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.
iPhone 15 is the best-selling smartphone model in the fourth quarter of 2024 |
Top 10 best-selling smartphone models in the world in the fourth quarter of 2024:
- iPhone 15
- iPhone 15 Pro Max
- iPhone 15 Pro
- Samsung Galaxy A15 5G
- Samsung Galaxy A15 4G
- iPhone 14
- Redmi 13C
- Samsung Galaxy A05
- Galaxy S24 Ultra
- Galaxy S24
The report said that compared to last year, the iPhone 15 Pro Max model has narrowed the gap with the standard iPhone 15. Users are increasingly upgrading to the Pro Max models thanks to their superior cameras and high-quality screens. This is also demonstrated by attractive trade-in programs from the company and retailers.
The Galaxy A15 5G and Galaxy A15 4G duo held the 4th and 5th positions, thanks to their reasonable pricing strategy as well as good configuration for popular needs. Samsung's mid-range product line continues to be popular in developing markets.
Counterpoint Research said that it is not surprising that previous-generation iPhone models dominated sales in the fourth quarter. This often happens because new iPhone generations are only available for a short time in the fourth quarter, and many consumers choose to buy older models to balance price and features.
Despite a slight decline in Apple compared to the same period last year due to Samsung's improvement, the iPhone still asserted its leading position in the high-end smartphone segment. In the global smartphone market, the combination of outstanding features, brand value as well as preferential programs has helped "Apple" continue to maintain its strong appeal.
