Ho Chi Minh City pays tribute to outstanding artists and performers.

(NLĐO) - Leaders of Ho Chi Minh City visited and paid tribute to outstanding artists and writers on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of literature and art in Ho Chi Minh City, acknowledging their enduring contributions to the arts.

On the morning of October 17th, a delegation of Ho Chi Minh City leaders, led by the Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, Nguyen Phuoc Loc, visited and paid tribute to many artists and writers on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of literature and art in Ho Chi Minh City.

Accompanying the delegation were Ms. Dinh Thi Thanh Thuy, Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports ; and representatives from various literary and artistic associations in Ho Chi Minh City.

City leaders present gifts to express gratitude to artist Huynh Thanh Tra.

This is a deeply meaningful activity aimed at recognizing and expressing gratitude to the artists and writers in general, especially those who participated in the revolution, artists and writers who have been awarded the State Prize, the Ho Chi Minh Prize, the titles of People's Artist and Meritorious Artist, and many others who have persistently contributed to the literature and arts of Ho Chi Minh City.

At Thi Nghe Nursing Home (Gia Dinh ward), the delegation kindly inquired about the health of and presented gifts to five artists: Huynh Thanh Tra, Mac Can, Meritorious Artist Dieu Hien, Ngoc Dang, and Lam Son.

City leaders inquired about the health of artist Mac Can (pictured above) and Meritorious Artist Dieu Hien.

Despite his advanced age, artist Mac Can still maintains an optimistic spirit, a gentle smile, and a sharp memory. During the visit, he happily shared memorable moments from his career, from his roles on stage to the films that resonated with audiences.

Meritorious Artist Diệu Hiền is known as the "foremost female martial arts performer" of the cải lương (Vietnamese traditional opera) stage, impressing audiences with performances such as "The Female General with the Peach Blossom Flag" and "General Nhụy Kiều"... Welcoming the delegation of leaders, she emotionally performed an excerpt from "Trụ Vương Burning Himself".

On the same day, the delegation also visited and chatted with People's Artist Tra Giang, musician Pham Minh Tuan, and artist Le Giang, listening to their stories about their careers and valuable contributions to the development of culture and art in the city and the country.

People's Artist Tra Giang shared about her passion for painting in her later years. To date, she has hundreds of paintings of all genres, with many group and solo exhibitions. People's Artist Tra Giang also expressed her joy and deep gratitude for being visited and honored by the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City.

Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, Nguyen Phuoc Loc, expressed his deep gratitude for the contributions of generations of artists and writers to the cause of artistic creation and the spiritual life of the people.

On behalf of the city's leadership, Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc extended his best wishes for health and peace to the artists and expressed his hope that they would continue to accompany and inspire the younger generation, contributing to shaping the cultural landscape of Ho Chi Minh City in the new phase.
